Michael Hill Northland

Unsure of salespersons name but I had my fiancé come in store to have his ring sized so I could purchase his engagement ring. He came into the store and salesperson ‘sized’ him by having him try on some bands and then said ‘a V looks as though it should fit’. Him knowing nothing about sizes and so on said okay and told me the size because obviously you’d trust the salesperson. I then purchased his ring online and it was HUGE, so clearly not the size that he was told. We ended up taking the ring I had purchased online into our local Michael hill store and they we’ve much more helpful and equally as shocked about the size difference, it being 4 bloody sizes too big. I am extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with the service from your store and if I could give it 0 stars, I would. Find staff who know what they’re doing and don’t give out wrong information because they’re frustrated that the person coming in just wants their finger sized and isn’t interested in making a purchase.

Two incredibly nice ladies helped myself, twin sister and mum with birthday gifts (bracelet and necklace) back in april and were so friendly to chat too and definitely made all of our days so thank you!!

This store DOES NOT honour the advertised sale price.I was in looking for a gold necklaces at this store and after 10 mins of looking was directed by a staff member to the front cabinet, in there with a sale sticker was a gold necklace advertised at $2600, after the staff member said TWICE to me “ You should buy this, it is very well priced” I proceeded with the purchase , she took the necklace to the computer to ring it up and then after talking to a manager told me “ I’m sorry the wrong sticker is on this necklace and it’s actually $8500”. They wouldn’t sell it to me at the advertised price, I complained and was told they were removing it from sale for 24 hours as it was the wrong price and was store policy. I called the regional manager who took a week to get back to me and she offered me a “preferred customer” price which was not the advertised sale price to which I refused asking for what was advertised and she said “No”.I hope your reading this Sir Michael Hill as I feel shocked that your staff could make a monumental error and then not stand by there mistake or honour the advertised price. I believe Sir Michael that you are an honourable man and would of done the right thing for your customers, hence the reason I’ve brought jewellery from your stores before but due to the actions (or lack) of your staff at the Northland store and your regional manager, I will never again deal with you and will tell every member of my family and friends to never deal with any Michael Hill store in the future. I expected a lot better.

Bought our wedding bands here and we’re so happy with them!Ilona helped us from the very beginning. She was very friendly and professional and gave very honest advice, never felt like she was trying to push us towards higher priced rings.We left ring shopping pretty late and we did have to stop by the store a couple of times with rings being brought across from different locations and even having mine special ordered. Each time the whole team were so excellent and friendly. We were really pushing our luck to get them in time for our wedding date but Ilona, Glenn, Lindsay and Maria all worked so hard to get us our rings in time and ensure we got exactly what we wanted! I would recommend this store purely for the customer service.My only regret was that Ilona wasn’t in when we picked them up! I would have loved to thank her in person :)

Had a necklace that broke twice within 5 minutes of wearing. They wouldn’t refund, told me I had to come back when there’s a manager in. You’d think if a necklace broke twice it would be a pretty easy refund

The stone came loose in my engagement ring and the staff here had it fixed and back on my finger in 6 days. Super impressed. Great service and staff are very very friendly10/10 would recommend

The person who sold the jewellery was kind and understanding. She didn't rush me even when I was taking my time going from one place to other and trying different things before making my decision which made me feel relaxed and calm rather than rushin
