Opera Apartments South Bank

The rooms were fine. The tv had a cracked LCD display and the air conditioning doesn’t really function at all, you can fiddle with the thermostat as much as you want, doesn’t change temperature or fan speed only turns on or off. Pretty disappointed

Very dirty rooms. Bunches of hair and dust under the bed. The sofa is stained, and the washing machine is so dirty that I'm afraid to wash anything there. We were only provided a single garbage bag for a seven night stay, really? The only positive thing is that the location is very good and a pool which is located at the top of the building. I will not choose these apartments next time, mainly because of the cleanliness.

To be honest, I'm not sure how Opera Apartments South Bank has such a high rating. Here's a breakdown of the good and bad.Good:o Fully equipped kitcheno Balcony with outdoor table and chairso WiFi is good at >50/50 Mbps.o The rooftop pool and BBQ areas are nice. The pool is a great place from which to watch the sunset.o Fantastic location. Very convenient for attending conferences at the exhibition centre.Bad:o Cockroaches in our bathroom and kitchen! Once it was dark, cockroaches came out in our bathroom and kitchen. On the first night, we killed four in the bathroom and two in the kitchen.o The front door has no signage to indicate where to enter Opera apartments. The door to enter the building does not automatically open and often the reception is unattended. So you have to use the keypad at the door to even gain entry to the building. We saw lots of new arrivals who were left very confused by the system.o We arrived at 12:30 pm and checked in, but as check-in time is not until 2 pm we dropped our luggage and then went off to grab lunch and coffee. We returned at 2 pm but were advised that our room still wasn't ready. We were told the room would be ready at 2:40 pm. Since we had already had lunch, we had nothing to do but sit around in the reception area until our room was ready. At 2:47 pm we were advised that the room would be ready in 10 mins. The room was then ready at 2:57 pm. When we entered the room it had a chemical smell and the kitchen floor was still wet after cleaning.o The walls were covered in dust. Additionally, all the air conditioning vents were caked with dust. There was an insane amount of dust behind the bed. As someone with allergies, we had to be very careful not to disturb the dust otherwise I would have been sneezing the whole time.o No tissues were provided.o No towels were provided for the pool.o The hallway had an unpleasant smell. Then the room also smelt but it was a completely different unpleasant smell.o The tv was fairly small. Only about 40.o We were on level 3 and we couldn't have our balcony door open as there was a loud noise from air conditioning units under us and the building next door. With the door closed though the noise of the air-conditioning units outside wasn't an issue (but then you're trapped with the smell!)Overall

Got off to a delayed start as my room was not ready on time and i had to wait around in a state i was unfamilar with. But Stay was Amazing. The room was immaculate. The view from my room was beautiful. Reception staff were amazing. The pool on the roof was very easy access. A few downsides were my microwave close to exploding. This was fixed properly as staff replaced it with a new microwave. My wifi key for the room did not work. My only complaint is that the vlanket that was supplied in my room seemed to be soiled in some type of stain. Whether this was a human fluid or a food stain. It did effect the happiness of my stay as it was very unhygenic

Great stay. Clean Apartment, excellent kitchen and kitchen ware. Lovely pool and Barbecue Area! Very nice Reception Staff. We was 18 Nights there and we felt very comfy! Like to come back! Thank you!

Great location, stayed 5 nights with our young family. The portacot provided was small and extremely flimsy. High chair had small food scraps still on it. Upon check out, all rubbish had to be disposed and removed from the apartment, which we found inconvenient. Surely this could be absorbed into the overall cost of the stay? Overall a nice stay but have realistic expectations if you are bringing a young family.

Beautiful apartments. Perfect for our family of four.

The apartments are spacious enough for two couples and boast a lovely location, just a 10-minute stroll away from the South Bank area. The balconies offer stunning views of Brisbane City, especially on level 14. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in these beautiful apartments.

My family were very happy with how well we were treated when staying at the Opera Apartments in South Brisbane.The staff were friendly and respectful.We were able to leave our bags before check in so that we could start exploring the city.Then to discover that the roof top was exactly like the photos online.Decked out with an infinity style pool and a separate eating area to have a bbq or sit at the high tables eating a local pizza with the night lit sky and ferris wheel as a back drop, superb.My kids and I spent every night on the roof of our stay there.We would definitely go back.
