Kitchen Decor & Hi Lite Bathrooms

We ummed and arrrred about providing this review, being a small business owner ourselves we know how much reviews can hurt a business but in the end my husband and I decided to write this review to let others know about our experience and ensure no one else has to go through what we went through.Timeline of events:10th August 2021 - Our kitchen renovation process began positively. Libby came out for initial appointment and was great, she was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful10th December 2021 – We visited the showroom/factory. My initial gut feeling was not to go with Kitchen Décor as I had another company who was at the top of my list. But when my husband and I went to visit my husband said let’s give them a go as they are a small business. In saying that there were red flags in the factory with a few cupboards and drawers which I noticed didn’t look that good. My husband convinced me to go with them and we paid our deposit. Nearly $2000.Once deposit was made, we didn’t hear from them till we called to book in dates etc.I called to book the appointment for final check measure which was booked 23rd February 2022 with our kitchen to be made and installed within 4-6 weeks of that date. Install date around end of March beginning of April 202218th Feb 2022 - I spoke with Craig about our pocket doors which I was ordering the hardware for it as we have an account with Hafele. We were told my Hafele and by another kitchen company we needed the concepta 30 but Craig told me he needed the concepta 40. I asked why when there is no difference in the mechanism and it is only determined by the height and weight of the door being hung, which was also advised by Hafele. After speaking with Craig, I changed my order from 30 to the 40. Inspite of the cost being $1000 more each door. (see screen shot showing doors ordered on 18th Feb). I asked Craig about potentially hanging our cupboard for the rangehood via the ceiling, I said we would be happy to pay extra if it can be done, if not all good we can stick with the original plan. Craig said he would look and discuss this at site measure.21st Feb 2022 – Final Check and measure appointment 9am – Both hubby and I took the day off work to be there. 10am and still no one. Called Craig and he rejected my call twice. Texted him and an automated reply I’ll call you back. (But have never spoken to him again and neither has he tried to call us back). 11am and I had to head off for meetings, so I sent a text to Craig advising to please change our appointment to 4pm, no response. I called Libby around 1pm who said to me Craig has cancelled our job and doesn’t want to do it anymore. I couldn’t believe it one month before install they were CANCELLING ON US!! I asked why and Libby said because Craig didn’t like the way I questioned him about the Haefele doors, that is why they CANCELLED on us!!As any normal person would be I was fuming!!!After holding our deposit for over 3 months and 1 month prior to install date, cancelling on us all over us just asking questions about the pocket door system and which one would best suit. Are customers not allowed to ask questions? (I have attached the email in the photo from Libby telling us this).Libby email suggests i need to find someone compliant - so glad i have found someone Libby and it’s not called being compliant, it’s called customer service and having a cabinet making who can provide advice and knowledge.I would suggest AVOIDING this company if you want your kitchen to go ahead as planned. The product in the factory didn’t look great either.I don’t want anyone else experiencing this so BEWARE!!I have attached screen shots and emails so let the buyer make up their mind.That same day we engaged a large kitchen company, who has already booked us in for manufacturing and provided us an install date end of April, this was the company I wanted to go with in the first place and should have listened to by gut feeling and NOT GONE WITH KITCHEN DÉCOR.

At the time of installation I was very happy with the work, like many reviews, until the literal cracks appeared. Trying to get Kitchen Decor to take responsibility for their work took a year and a legal process to have the work rectified. I would not recommend them to anyone, the experience was time consuming, combined with a lot of blaming, deflecting and limited honesty with responsibility. Never again!

Our kitchen renovation began positively but has been very disappointing. Practical completion was reached on 3 August 2018 with Craig telling us he would return in a couple of weeks" to do the finishing touches. He didn't come back until 8 weeks later and that was only after many phone calls and texts. There were still a few things to be sorted and again he said he would be back "in a couple of weeks". That took over 7 weeks this time - again after calls

We were extremely pleased with our new kitchen from this company. We had a deadline with family visiting from overseas and with other renovations happening at the same time, the project was completed in a very courteous and helpful manner. We have no hesitation in recommending this company to any prospective renovators.

Wow Wow Wow Kitchen Decor and Hi-Lite Bathrooms did an amazing job on our kitchen opening up the small area to a much more open modern kitchen. They also renovated our laundry which looks absolutely amazing. The guys Frank helped us with design and ideas and Craig did a fabulous job with the trades and quality of work done. We are so happy we have just asked them to do our bathroom up we can’t wait to see it when it’s finished.

Kitchen designer and consultant Libby Wightman at Kitchen Decor has been our Angel and saviour in all things Kitchen. Her virtue of genuinely helping her clients with her vast experience and ideas helped to re-create and remodel our kitchen within the tight space of our apartment. All this achieved without compromising on quality. She was a great help in the selection of laminates and colour schemes. She never flinched in how much time she afforded us during the design stage.
