Absolutely beautiful food, but very overpriced. The spanakopita are fantastic, truly, but they're tiny and they're $4 each. Extremely expensive for what it is. Worth visiting once for great Greek food, but unless they reduce their prices it will most likely remain a special occasion only restaurant.

Great experience tonight. Warm service, great authentic good. Enjoyed everything we ordered. Standouts were lamb casserole with pasta, moussaka (SOO much better than 1821 in the city) and the almond cookies. Didn't take great photos since we were too busy eating....Oscar (our almost 3yo always enjoyed the generosity of being offered some hot chips too- so thoughtful!)

Delicious food enjoyed by my mob for lunch today. My Lamb Casserole with Okra was outstanding with lamb falling off the bone, a flavoursome tomato-based stew juices and a good amount of okra. Flashed out and had dessert - semolina custard pastry - don't know the name. Bit above my budget level, but well .... occasional treat. Sooo tasty! Excellent company and service was friendly but possibly too many customers to handle promptly.

I've been here a few times and the food generally has been great. Its all very fresh and tasty. The meat platter was a little overcooked for my liking. The waiters are all very friendly. The only downside is that when it's busy, which is most Saturday and Sundays, it's so noisy that it's very difficult to have a conversation with the people on your table. Perhaps some noise absorbing panels on the ceiling or walls would help.

Was recommended this gem from a close friend from work who is Greek and described it to me as the most authentic Greek food in Sydney. I'm so glad I took his advice and indulged in their lunch set menu for 2. Service was amazing and very accommodating, the food was fantastic and is the best Greek food I've had in Australia. Definitely recommend this restaurant as a must.

Great food and service. My only comment would be that there was too much lettuce in the Greek salad - mostly lettuce with a few pieces of tomato, onion, on top etc which was very overpriced at ~$25. Nonetheless 5/5 for based on overall expedite for a special occasion. Thanks.

We too a mate here for a lunch the day before his wedding to calm some nerves. The food was outstanding and came out super quick. The staff were great and happy to engage in a light hearted chat. We had a range of traditional dishes come out over the meal and this is definitely the way to do it so you can try all on offer. My favourite dish was the garlic chili prawns by far which were to die for. Highly recommend for a rustic Greek lunch that won't disappoint.

Cramped space, too many tables, missed serving one or our entrees, very slow service, water glasses on our table ... but no water, menu expensive. Ordered a lamb casserole, just pasta with 2 chops thrown in. Would not recommend

The Greek Islands Taverna
Staff were friendly and service was quick but this place is WAY overpriced for the quality of food they dish up. Not only that but everything we had was overcooked and the lamb souvlaki had gristle indicating the poor quality produce.Also our rubbery grilled octopus entree came out AFTER both our mains.If you want good Greek food at a reasonable price I'd look elsewhere. We won't be going back.
