Meals come out hot only to have a massive cooling fan over your shoulder to make it cold in 5 mins. The kitchen apparently has been told this b4 but dont seem to get it. Other than that it would of been good.

Came here for a beer and a meal after a long bike ride. Seafood was really good and the friendly publican served up local wine and intell. Avoca is a lovely town and I'm sure they'll bounce back after COVID. Pub is highly recommended for country hospitality.

An interesting and innovative use of a massive old room give this pub a good atmosphere to have a pleasant meal. The kitchen and serving staff go like the clappers to provide solid country pub fare.

Traditional pub grub. Meal's are tasty and would fill two average people. Friendly staff and fireplaces in the bar and dinning room. They lose one star as the wait can be a little long when the place is full.

I really like having Dinner here as often as l can . Great food .... a charming Bistro . I have eaten at many many many Rural Hotels when l was on the Road - this one is in my Top Ten . The WoodStove keeps the room warm..... you need to be comfortable as the Chicken Parma takes a while to eat . Unpretentious and characterful - this is what Country Cooking is all about .... goodonya Ladies x

Super-sized meals as usual. Cooked to perfection. Did have to wait an hour and a quarter but the 2 ladies were flat out keeping up. Celebrated my birthday and they looked after the cake. Overall I doubt you could find a better meal in a country town and double the size of a city meal.

Sadly, the bistro is shade of its former self. Liz, the gifted chef has passed away and now the meals are chips-with-everything bog-ordinary pub grub with the lone cook spending time between the freezer and the deep fryer... Across the road is by all accounts overpriced yuppie fare.

Great atmosphere and neat rustic setting. Friendly staff and bar staff. Food however was over priced and pretty much cold by the time it arrived, like they had let the steak rest too long. The kitchen staff seemed overwhelmed even though it wasn't overly busy. We arrived about 630pm and waited around an hour and fifteen minutes for our meals. None of the meals were complicated , roast of the day, porterhouse steak, satay chicken. Generally a positive feeling from our group of 9.

Had dinner here and found the service very friendly and the meals were fantastic. Great pub food. WE BE BACK.
