Longyard Golf Course

The pro shop staff and clubhouse staff are always happy kind and helpful. When I haven’t got time for a game of golf, I love to use the driving range. This is the main reason I come out to this golf course.

Pro shop has closed down for a change of professional, the course has more dust than blades of grass and the driving range doesn't have any balls.Seriously, a group of friends and I rocked up early afternoon, well before close, only to be told that there were no balls left and there would be more tomorrow. Surely the cost to run the tractor or pick up a few buckets by hand is insignificant compared to the revenue from a group buying a big bucket each?

with my job as a site supervisor i have the previllage of playing a lot of different golf courses when working away from home , first,i have to take my hat off to the ground staff ,the Greens match if not better than resort courses on the Gold Coast , tees are well looked after ,Fairways (when you hit them ) are pretty good aswell , . i am writing this after having 3 rounds at this course . the Pro shop staff remembered me after the fist time & were very helpfull/comfortable to talk with , But it is the Members that i found most accomidating , welcome me with open arms after the game ( yes i have a hangover ) Good Honest Golfers who like to play golf & have a great time doing it . i Will be Back

Droughts are awful. They bring hardship and misery. Longyard Golf Course is suffering the affects of the drought that has gripped Tamworth and inland northern NSW generally for over 3 years. The course has a strong pedigree with a Harrison/Norman design. I'm guessing the plan hatched 20 or so years ago was to build a wonderful golf course as an incentive for people to buy into the real estate devopments that ring most of the course. But with the developments mostly done and the drought rendering much of the course a dustbowl, the question of whether the course will survive is an obvious one.I'm sure golfers can enjoy playing here. WARNING: Bring your own clubs. Those on hire here are shockers.

Great challenge, however has become easier after a lot of the rough was cleaned up. Staff all friendly and the food in the restaurant is great. You can even play Putt-Putt.

Interesting layout, longish course. Greens pretty good, fairways seen better days. Clearly struggling for water which is a shame. Golf carts on offer incredibly slow. Good value at $56 each for 2 of us sharing a cart midweek.

A fine golf course designed by one of Australia's premier designers Bob Harrison.A good test of golf rewarding risk taking with easier options.Good condition and easy to get on.

Lovely little place for small functions. Huge amount of food. Function room away from regulars so made it better for funeral wake.
