Thredbo Diggings campground
Great camp site, very scenic. We camped in the tent-only section and the view of the mountains and river is very nice. Being on the Thredbo Valley Track means there's great walking close by - it's only about 2.5km walk to Lake Crackenback resort where you can get some lunch/refreshments too (my kids loved jumping on the trampoline too). Not far up the hill to threbo so great location for cheap accommodation near the MTB gravity trails.A few logistics - Telstra mobile reception was okay, dropper toilets (well maintained) but no showers, water or rubbish areas. The tent only sites can't be driven onto either. The only negative to be aware of is that the possums are VERY active and determined at night... We had to lock up everything in the car - they'll break into camp kitchens! Also, plenty of rocks in the river so a pair of river shoes is worth it too.We will definitely be back, my daughters don't want to leave.

One of the beautiful camp sites I’ve been. Clean grass. Spacious campground. Beautiful surroundings. Creek with good water. Fire pits, wood bbq pits. Few nice trails around. Wildlife around. Beaware birds poo on tents.

An absolute must for those keen campers that like to get off the grid. Definitely best to visit this location in the warmer months as it is in the Snowy Mountains, just below Thredbo. It is such a gorgeous location. Perfect for trout fishing. Great place to bring the family. It does have toilets but no shower facilities. Great place to get back to nature. Love the Diggings.

Amazing campground. Fireplace available. Saw deer and ducks during our stay. Great view in the morning. Toilets available. However it is pretty cold when we were there (July, as low as -3.1degC), and watch for muddy ground our car almost got stuck.

A massive but also very popular campground located just off the main highway. Theres plenty of designated campfire spots and toilets to go around. Strong cellular reception. The only drawback is its popularity as mentioned earlier, however if you can snag a spot during a quiet period, it’s an amazing area.

Another stunning National Parks campground in the snowy mountains! We popped in to scout future locations for camping trips and would happily come back here. There are an array of different campgrounds and sites for caravans, camper and and tents. There are a couple of larger bays which would be suited for large vans as well. I have included a photo of the site map (excuse the car engine running in the video). There are a couple of long drop toilets as well. The run into the campground is tight and steep; nothing too silly, you just need to be careful. There are pull back lanes in case people get blocked.Remember you need to boil all water and take all rubbish with you at this campground. You need to make a booking for the sites and there is also Nationals Parks access fees to consider as well. That said, awesome campground, we would happily be back.

I only visited here briefly to check it out, but it is a very picturesque camping ground, which is right on the river, with lots of space to enjoy swimming, provided you can bear the chilly water. This is genuinely one of the most beautiful campgrounds I have seen, and it's well worth checking out!

Beautiful spot with wide slow river, large grassy and tussock banks and a few nice campsites although best to survey before you book something in so it's big enough and shade if you need. Probably just four really good tent sites.

Beautiful little campground and so close to the snow. Drop toilets were reasonable. If you plan on visiting please be respectful of other campers and the enviroment! Be careful of the birds as they are clever and will steal your unguarded snacks!

We just drove in for a look on our way back from Dead Horse Gap, but it looks like a lovely spot to camp. Most spots are behind bollards but there are some spots to park a van, putting tent pegs in would be a challenge though I think. There's toilets here too. There's a river flowing right next to this camp ground and it looks beautiful, would be great for the kids to have a swim in summer. We'll definitely come back door a camp in summer.
