Short Bark n Sides Dog Grooming

I have followed Alana from Mornington down to Dromana as she is a legend with my pup. She went above and beyond to help me out over the weekend to ensure my pup could get there! Her new shop is lovely lots of goody’s for the dogs and feels lovely when you go in (doggy zen!). I have a Groodle and people often ask where she is groomed as she always looks great when she leaves. My dog adores going there!

We had waited some 8 weeks for our now woolly, but still young, Mini Schnauzer to be groomed at Short Bark & Sides after being very happy with his first visit there. However, four things have changed our views, and we will NOT be going back.Firstly, our Schnauzer's cut was somewhat haphazard in that the left side of his face is very different to the right side and his rear end was not finished off correctly. Yes, I realise there have been many staff departures and the second groomer may not have been as experienced with this breed as the first groomer. Secondly, my wife was dismissed by the groomer when she was expressing our concerns. Thirdly, our Schnauzer was held for 3.5 hours as we were told that an emergency grooming had to be performed on a dog that was to be euthanized. If correct, I feel for that dog's owners. Lastly, we were told that the staff departures meant the next appointment would be in 9 weeks...one week longer than the period our dog had just endured, and now in summer heat.

After another series of lockdowns our cavoodle was in need of a makeover! Sadly when we were due for our appointment we were hit with another lockdown. Alana was quick to communicate this and had an appointment lined up the minute we opened. Alana did a fantastic job making our pooch beautiful and happy again. We have rebooked.

My dog loved going here. Awesome and friendly service. Can't wait for her next visit.

It is just so hard to find quality groomers these days. Thank goodness we found Short Bark 'n' Sides. This was our first visit. Our two Cavvies were pretty messy after too long between grooms. No problems! It was like magic and they were done. Beautifully! Geoffrey can be a bit sensitive (he's a Cavvie of course) and the baby Emerson, well he's just a bundle of energy. So to hear they were well behaved and relaxed says a lot about the environment and their treatment. They loved it, we love how they look and bingo, we have our new favourite groomer on the Mornington Peninsula! Highly recommended!
