Kangaroo River walking track

Park outside entry gate and travel along a wide gravel road down to the river's edge. Approx. 3.5km walk downhill but the walk back is much harder as it's up hill. Takes about 2hrs at moderate pace to complete a roundtrip and no climbing involved. Road is a bit rougher as you approach the river but partly shaded near river. There was no one on the track when we went mid week in April. Only two of us, so we had the site to ourselves! A great walk for those of moderate fitness or better.

The 3.5k walk downhill was easy as it is a firetrail without obtacles, steps etc. The walk down is unspectacular except for a few caves & rock formations on the left & a brief view of the river bends through fire ravaged / regenerating bush on the right about 20 mins in.The track brings you to a point in the river where it branches in 4 directions due to 2 creeks joining the river. Peaceful if you have the place to yourself as I did & swimming is certainly on the cards if you can find a spot to safely climb out.The walk back was hellish & unenjoyable - the sight of the carpark was a highlight of trip.No wildlife spotted in 4 hours & I won't be taking the walk again.

A very nice firetrail walk with view, rock formations, wild flowers and a great picknic and swimming spot at the end, Beehive Point.

Great walk in all down hill making for a tuff walk out. Seen 2 x snakes on the track.
