Meerea Park is, in my opinion, the best winery in the Hunter Valley. The quality is outstanding and the prices of their wines are extremely reasonable. The Hell Hole Shiraz and the Terracota Shiraz are classic Hunter Rhone styles. The Alexander Munro Shiraz is a world class single vineyard Shiraz, the equal of any other great Australian Shiraz and at one third of the price of other top Hunter shirazes. The Alexander Munro Chardonnay is ridiculously cheap for the quality. The owner, Garth, is always on hand at the cellar door and is a wealth of information about Hunter wine. Do yourself a favour - go there on your next Hunter trip. You won’t regret it. I’ve been a wine club member for about 5 years and I’m never ever disappointed with the wines.

Over the week we spent touring the wineries in the region this was the stand out for our entire party and it was not even on our list to check out. We were at the Roche complex waiting for the cheese place to open so we decided we would try one of the cellars doors. As we walked past this one a dog basically come out snuggled up to us and lured us in. The staff were great the wines were good it was the perfect tasting. Needless to say a couple dozen of their wines now hold pride of place in our cellar.

I didn’t believe in the low ratings but they were right! And the wine tastes cheap. The man interacting with us is the co-owner. He shows zero friendliness. To be sympathetic he looks like he was going through some personal issues, but looking at the reviews from a few years ago this is more like a constant - he is just not suitable for a job that deals with customers. If you don’t want to pay someone to pour you a serving of poor attitude and sub-standard service, then don’t waste your time at the Meerea Park Wines.Oh, and the wine tastes cheap.

Hadn't heard of or seen this place before but thought we'd give it a try as we'd just eaten close by.Looked after by Garth throughout. When I mentioned I wasn't a fan of Australian chardonnays, he took that as a challenge and got me to try 2 that I otherwise wouldn't have touched (I bought the XYZ)Things warmed up a bit more, tried a fantastic pinot noir (also bought) and a bunch of other reds.Almost last I got to try the Black Shiraz (as it was my birthday). What a treat. Ended up buying another red .All in all, great service and some of the better wines I've tried in the Hunter. Looking forward to coming back.

Such a fantastic tasting- easily some of the best wines in the Hunter. The Aunts Shiraz, the ‘ hell hole’ Shiraz and the indie Marsanne rousanne were cracking value for money. Bob was great and the addition of the ‘black’ was much appreciated! Also capped off with the lovely puppy Lilly. Wines for wine lovers with Hunter valley and Rhone valley profiles. 5/5

We'd just gone by Tempus Two but they were too busy so we walked past to Meerea wines and what a happy discovery! We had a lovely laid-back tasting with great chat from Garth who managed to persuade my partner into trying the XYZ Chardonnay which he enjoyed (not normally an Australian Chardonnay drinker). Would have loved to have bought the 'Black' Shiraz but at $300/bottle we were more than happy enough with the Terracotta Syrah. Their wines are definitely comparable to Brokenwood's if you're also a fan of theirs.Side-note: the 'rude guy' mentioned in a couple of other reviews no longer works there. We also didn't feel Tempus Two was really worth the visit when we'd gone back for a tasting.

Luke was excellent! His knowledge of the wine and winery history made for engaging conversation. Overall the quality of the wines were fantastic and we purchased more than we had originally expected to. Highly recommend to any wine connoisseur or anyone looking to broaden their palate. Thank you again Luke for a fantastic experience. We look forward to visiting again next time we are in the Hunter - Jess and Pat
