Mixed review.Lovely sitting outside with a view over the garden and swimming pool.Inside is very ugly and plasticy.The guy serving at the bar and taking food orders was great.The meals were all good, especially the gratin, but the broccoli was inedible. We guessed it was frozen then boiled for ages.We liked the wine.

Our favourite restaurant on the island. Delicious food in a casual child friendly setting. Staff were very accommodating despite being a very busy night. Get there before sunset to feed the kookaburras on the deck.

Up The Garden Path Restaurant & Bar
The staff are always so accommodating and friendly. This is our favourite spot to go for a casual drink and game of pool. The food is amazing no matter what you pick and the chef occasionally makes and appearance and checks in on you and your meal. An overall friendly, fun atmosphere.

Sadly last night we had to wait over 1.5 hours before leaving due to no communication and not receiving our meals. I am Coeliac and called beforehand to double check allergy compliance, they said they could cater. When talking to the staff they seemed unsure and I felt sorry that management hadn't communicated the importance of allergies to there new staff, she was very understanding however and tried to accommodate. We were told it was busy however most of the tables were unattended apart from the large table next to us. As we got just over 1.5 hours of waiting we heard the next table over discussing the raw chicken and uneatable steak, we decided to leave immediately. What was meant to be a birthday celebration turned out to be a bit of a disappointment.

Amazing pork ribs and very good price. Beautiful view of the pool. Breakfast was delicious for a surprisingly good value.

Perfectly cooked rib fillet steak and fresh vegetables. Very reasonably priced at time of publishing the review this was the most expensive dish at $32. You can see why there's a smile. Quick and friendly service too.

Recently we went up and ate at the Chinese Smorgasbord. Love that this is available on the island. The soup was delicious, and there was a good variety of dishes to choose from, well worth the $30 per head for all-you-can-eat.

Difficult place to review. It has a nice setting overall but the dining room is basically like a noisy school cafeteria with wobbly tables and plastic chairs, it adjoins the bar so a few noisy blokes and a game of pool ruined any chance of atmosphere.I had the coral trout, the fish was great but was served with the WORST vegetables I have EVER been served, including from the mother in law... Horrible grey, over-cooked cauliflower and dreadful over-salted sweet potato mush. I commented on this to the waitress and she was totally uninterested in the feedback. Someone in the kitchen can't cook and doesn't care about quality.My wife had steak, it looked OK (medium rare) but was bloody (poorly aged) and tough and the vegetables were raw!Another thing, the path up to the restaurant is poorly signed and poorly lit (take a torch), getting out is tricky too, there's a cryptic gate with a hidden push button.I suspect that the chef left a few months back and the barman took over the cooking. Disregard food reviews before about April 2022. Since then they are all poor.

They were short staffed so a bit of a wait for meals. But it was worth it. Best steak I've eaten for decades! Rib eye with garlic butter. Tender, beautiful flavour and perfectly cooked. Friendly service too
