Camera House - Central Market

Had an awesome experience purchasing a new mirrorless camera. These guys are proof excellent customer service still exists and they're super knowledgeable.

I have been extremely impressed by the wealth of knowledge , friendliness and overall empathy and positive outcomes I have experienced. Steve is a brilliant rep and I can't speak any more highly of his professionalism and understanding. Thanks guys!

TL:DR; my assistant was ripped off for a standard Sandisk 32gb SD Card.Sent my assistant to Camera House in Central Market to purchase a 32gb SD card as we were running short on storage while onsite.Before leaving to go to Camera House, I advised my assistant of the SD card I required and what resolution I would be filming video at (standard 1080p24) so that the Camera House staff could help him out with the purchase (or so I thought).Granted my assistant does not have the extended knowledge required to identify the appropriate SD card speed for our cameras, but rather than helping him out and giving him options, the Camera house staff not only took advantage of his lack of knowledge, they upsold my assistant and charged him AU$37 for a Sandisk Ultra Plus 32gb which is entirely overkill for filming 1080p video. This is all despite the fact that the staff were made aware that the SD card would only be required to film 1080p. Competitors such as JB-Hi-Fi and Big W have the same card for sale for AU$15 and even cheaper on Amazon or Ebay.Will never be returning here again.

Went in knowing I wanted a camera, but was unsure whether I wanted film or digital. The guys in the shop were extremely helpful and patient, supplying me with lots of options. I took a while to decide but once I did, I was provided with everything I needed along with the camera and informed of how to use everything (don't have much photography knowledge). Very happy with this customer service experience :)

Can't rate highly enough - so friendly and helpful. They gave me a little demo showing me how to use the equipment I bought, answered all my questions and even gave me some extra tips that I wouldn't have known about otherwise.

Everyone is really friendly in this store and the nice dude who helped me last week was so lovely! I’m very new to using a film camera and he was understanding and helped me learn more about how to use my camera. They also develop photos really quickly at a very reasonable rate!

Not cheap, but film and developing isn’t cheap anywhere nowadays. Only a 2 day turn around for film development of two rolls. Great customer service. Considering how busy they seem, really really impressed.

I bought my first ever camera from these folks back in 1999. I was clueless and they sold me a film camera that still works great to this day. I have used them ever since and their service, professional knowledge and easy going manner will ensure that I continue to give them my business. Strongly recommend.

There aren't too many places now that develop film anymore and this place does it for a really reasonable rate and it's always high quality. Too many other places i have been to charge the same price as Camera house; but the quality is bad and you have to go back to pick the film photos up. Camera house is great because they use Dropbox to send the film photos to you, which makes it really convenient. My go to place to get film developed and purchase film rolls. The staff are always friendly and helpful too.
