Sam St Jon - Photographer

Working with Sam to get my promo shots was a fantastic experience! I came in with an annoying mix of no ideas and some wacky, unformed ideas that popped into my head from somewhere, and Sam did a great job of developing them into something we could actually shoot, mixing in her own knowledge of the requirements and specifications of this form of shoot, and turned out an excellent set of shots that I'm really happy with. It was satisfying, educational, and loads of fun!

When I approached Sam with an idea to have a bit of fun with our first official family portraits, I knew instantly she was the perfect photographer to collaborate with. Sam's enthusiasm for the project was infectious and inspiring. I was so impressed with how hard Sam worked to shape the practical and magical aspects of this shoot. She was easy to communicate with, instantly understood our ideas and had an arsenal of tricks and resources to bring about our perfect portraits.Sam was amazing with our baby girl, who was happy and calm throughout the shoot. My partner and I also had so much fun, and were made to feel gorgeous and fierce and relaxed and that absolutely shows through in every shot.I cannot recommend Sam highly enough. She is a technically gifted photographer with a heart full of magic. She understands kook but also the importance of the sedate. Sam has an ability to capture a split second moment you don't even realise is happening, one that radiates love or fun or sweetness or quiet or just a general peek at being a human.Thanks Sam, we will treasure these genuinely amazing photographs forever.

3 weeks ago I married the love of my life & the moments that made up the day were beautifully captured by the amazing Sam St Jon! This was Sam’s first Wedding but you would never have known it, she immediately put us at our ease & was ever present throughout the day without being intrusive. Sam understood what we wanted & not only captured beautiful images that we will treasure forever but somehow managed to capture the individual personalities & relationships of our friends & Family. We would certainly recommend Sam as a wedding photographer, she was awesome!

As part of our fundraiser for Theo Feeds Nepal, Sam produced some great photos of musicians, artist and guests. Recommend her for any event.

What a lovely human Sam is! As the founder and Director (2013-2016) of Wollongong Writers Festival, I pulled Sam into the team when we were just starting out and she's stayed with us ever since.
