The Learning Sanctuary Camp Hill

So much to say about this childcare centre! And not very positive unfortunately. I would like this rating to be taken in a constructive way by the business because the centre has potential and the workers have good intentions but are under resourced and over-worked. Our daughter went to this centre for 6 months and cried and hung onto my clothes at EVERY SINGLE drop off. She is going to a new centre which is 100 times better (for the same fees!). So I got to the conclusion that the business model of the Camp Hill Learning Sanctuary is flawed and the money made is not properly invested in the children or the staff. The presence of agency staff is constant and EVERY week I got to see new faces in my daughter's class. This is less than great for little children that hate to be left in the care of unfamiliar people. Also, the toys were broken and in disrepair. The teachers were always very nervous because they were under staffed. I don't think this centre complies with the ratios to be honest. I've had chats with a lot of parents that are thinking about pulling their kids off the centre and heard conversations of angry mothers in the car park. The learning Sanctuary, something needs to be done about it!

Do NOT send your kids here!! They are useless! They never provided updates, only when prompted and constantly changed educators. When I asked my child what they did today, he stated that they were told to massage the teacher!! She was an interim educator BUT what does this say about their vetting process!!One day i also arrived to find the Educator in tears! When i asked the then manager (CAZ) what happened, she replied no concern of mine! When i angrily replied it was my concern, being that the kids were all upset, she just walked away! AWFUL PLACE!!!

Wouldn’t recommend at all.1. Management absolutely hopeless.2.Staff are way over worked and have such a high staff turnover. ( no consistency for the kids to build a connection with their carers especially the younger ones )3. The cleanliness very average4. Majority of the toys/ resources are outdated5. The nursery play area has a lot of red flags for accidents to happen easily6. Getting a refund from this centre can take a long time ( 1-2 months )7. Communication is very poor both staff and management ( had a few issues with staff saying two different things regarding how my child’s day went - leaving me so confused and anxious )Just don’t waste your time or money.We are now at another centre and I regret so much not pulling my child out of here sooner.

Unfortunately I have to change my review. We spent 12 months at this care centre, and in that time the administration was subpar. Once we notified we were leaving the centre in December they proceeded to take money that was not going to be owed to them. Once we joined up to a new get Daycare, that admin, kindly, let us know that we should seek our two weeks in advance payment from the old Daycare as they won’t refund it of their own accord. Once I contacted learning sanctuary Camp-hill to ask for my refund, they sent me a refund form and said I had to fill it out and send back to them. It has now taken four weeks of back-and-forth and I have still not received my refund. After trying to call and email them I was given no explanation to what the reason for not refunding that week, just that I would receive it the following week. This has been the same story for four weeks and I still haven’t got my money back.

At day 1, my 13month old (who really struggled at other daycares and cried most of the day) was a different child. All of the staff are beyond amazing, always happy and smiling and so helpful, and have made our family feel so settled and a part of the centre. They have made this transition so easy and enjoyable, plus nothing is too much trouble. The facilities are unbelievable - the rooms are next level and have so many things for the little ones to do and are interactive also! I get updates with nappy changes, while she is sleeping, the food she has eaten, and videos/pictures during the day as well. I cannot recommend this centre high enough!!

This centre has gone far above and beyond my expectations for my niece. He went from crying every morning at his previous centre to hopping every morning to see his friends at Kindy.The girls here have always looked after him and it’s impressive how well they handle this challenging role.I’d like to give a special shoutout to Paige, Irene and the wonderful ladies in the office!

An absolutely amazing centre. The facility is new, clean, tidy and designed for interactive learning, but also very warm and homely. I am blown away about how the whole team have a genuine passion for childcare, and it shines through with every interaction I have with the staff. My 7 month old loves it so much, he doesn't even want to come home most days! I'm very grateful that we got a spot, I'm sure that they will have a massive waiting list in no time once people know how wonderful the place is!

I couldn’t recommend The Learning Sanctuary more. The staff have been so welcoming and made the transition of starting daycare as smooth as possible. Our son has gone from crying at most drop offs to running in and hugging the educators on arrival. Irene is so caring and the updates and activities she does with the toddler class are amazing !

My grandson goes to ELS at Camp Hill, the educators are wonderful with him and treat him with kindness and much respect. Thank you Miss Irene and the other lovely educators in his room.The children left in the charge of ELS Camp Hill are always happy and smiling, full of fun, laughter and learning.Like most business, during Covid they had a hard time however, they have pulled through, so congratulations to them, their ingenuity and their persistence in keeping a high standard within the center is awesome. The new Director, Karina and her 2IC Mary are always available to chat to and hear your concerns if any arise.Roxanne in the kitchen is great with her food handling and the food smells delicious too I might add. Busy parents can grab a tea or coffee and a sample of food on their way out the door.The parking is convenient either out the front on the street or underneath in the car park.I really like the easy sign in and out process and I really love the updates and pictures during the day of what my grandson and his friends have been doing.Well done ELS Camphill and team
