Hatcher's Manor
Just checked into one of their ‘new cottages’. Absolutely disgusting.Obviously hasn’t been cleaned.Skid marks in the toilet and dust/dirt on top of the cistern. Cutlery drawer contains lots of crumbs. Long hairs in the bed. Dust/dirt around the edges of the floor.Looks like construction hasn’t finished yet (and is pretty poor workmanship). Can still see plaster patches, some areas have only had one coat of paint, the bathroom door is an external door with the window pane painted over, lotus of scuff marks and pencil marks (from builders).DO NOT STAY HERE

Peaceful and scenic property, lovely antique furniture, a spa, room service if needed, and cooperative friendly staff. I just visited by myself for some r n r and it was perfect. Comfy bed. Had a gr8 sleep and breaky in the gracefully decorated restaurant. Minimal self catering with a 2 burner hob and microwave.

Not quite sure where to go with this review, but basically we felt scammed. The website has the most amazing pictures of people having a good time in pristine settings, but when you get there, you quickly realize that the place is really falling apart as an establishment. Yes, owners are friendly, but grossly overworked and rather thinly staffed. I got the feeling there was zero investment in maintenance, plaster coming off walls and woodwork looking tired and in need of a repaint. Grass growing out of gutters, entrance lamps in driveway broken, a stale smell throughout buildings and the restaurant could do with a department of health check. The big wedding/banqueting room is a stale mess, with the back room looking like something one would find in a refugee camp with some sort of make shift dwellings half constructed amongst machinery and bits of odd things that don't belong anywhere. Spa bath did not work in the room. Grounds a mess and orchards are a thing of the past, in irrecoverable run down state. It's just a big mess. The 4-star rating is dishonest. To give this place one star is being very gracious.I'm sure that once upon a time is was gorgeous, but that is just the fairy tale. This place is on its last legs.

Should’ve read the reviews before booking!Goodness, where to start…. Very dirty stained carpets, earwigs in the shower/toilet, toilet holder fell off, lights not working, very old stained towels with holes in them. The garden was very unkept, this place looked nothing like it did in the bookings. We had to use all of our sense of humour to get us through the night. On a positive the place looked very nice lit up at night with the fairy lights. And I’m sure it would’ve have once been a lovely place in its day.

Started to have second thoughts when reading some reviews but the room was lovely, we stayed in the attic room which was spacious and warm with a big TV as well as coffee/tea etc. Room was very clean and new clean linen. The reception guy was very welcoming and showed us around when we expressed an interest in the main house. The only real issue was that it's a large rambling type place and they had a crew of contractors staying there, so we were woken at 5.30 to the guys getting ready for work which continued till 6.30 when they eventually left.

Quirky place. We arrived early evening and were advised our room was accidentally allocated to someone else and the restaurant was closed (we called ahead to confirm booking and weren’t advised of this earlier). The room we were allocated was fine.Being a Manor it was themed as such, wouldn’t say it’s luxurious but it is comfortable.Bathrooms could do with an upgrade, they also had somewhat of a sewerage smell coming through the pipes. No milk provided for tea/coffee station.Breakfast was filling and tasty.

Needs a very big tidy. There was a dirty tissue in the bedroom. A tripping hazard pay me yeah in bathroom door that was bad enough to cut toes. Told them they didn’t seem to care. mold on iron board cover. And just junk around the yard. Broken furniture night. Would never stay there again. Almost $400 for one night. Not happy. Do not recommend.

Never been so disgusted with a room or the owners of an establishment before as we were here.3 couples booked in advance to this Manor. The grounds are unkept, overgrown and not at all as glamorous as the pictures on websites show.Room 8 had cracks in the front door allowing air & bugs to enter. The lights are dim or not working. There was a rotten apple on the window sill, curtains are off the tracks, towel holders falling off the wall. You could etch pictures on the sideboards in the dust that had accumulated. The irons' soleplate was blackened! Bath towels were paper thin. Bed is like sleeping on a park bench. Pillows are smaller than the average bed pillow and well used, needed replacing years ago.But do not bring these issues up with the owners/managers, they do not want to hear!! They tell you these rooms are cleaned everyday, and you should've checked out as soon as you checked in with quite an attitude. A bit difficult when the whole town is booked out and they have already charged your card.DO NOT GO THERE!!

Nice for a short stay. The accommodation is pretty dated having been built in the 90s and doesn't look like it has been updated since. However the house looks beautiful from the outside and he garden is well kept. It was very spacious but the shower was terrible with the hot water cutting in and out. The grounds are lovely and it is nice to see all the birds and sheep. They provide their own cooked meals which were rather overpriced for the quality you got but were convenient though. Also you had to come at a certain time for the meals, she wanted us to come at 6pm but we wanted to sight see so got her to make it 6.30. She started turning out the lights as we were finishing up and we were actually in darkness until she finally turned a light back on. The cooked breakfast was odd with carrot and potato, probably left over from the night before. The owners were reasonably friendly but seem pretty tired and should perhaps have sold up some years ago. They were fairly unprofessional, shouting at their son who was zooming around chasing sheep on his four wheeler (in his 50s!). Their four Maltese dogs are cute but a bit noisy. The location is close to the town though and good for getting to the airport without having to go into Hobart.
