Another early morning swim at Seaford today

My review is in regards to the process of hiring the space. I dealt with Darren via email who was very prompt in replying to my request to hire the space as a back up wedding venue for us if the weather was too bad for the beach. First contact was the 11th June and I had transferred payment by 15th. Several emails were sent and I was happy with the communication.I was told to email to arrange pick up of keys a week before we needed the venue. I sent an email 10 days before the wedding, and again 7 days before as I had had no response. I had one email after this saying Darren would let me know ASAP, or he 'may open the room for us on the day'.I had zero response from this point. I emailed two days before our wedding, and again a day before. Nothing. I asked again if we were to pick up a key or to expect the room to be open.After having explained that this room was for a wedding I would have expected much better communication. To not know whether the room would be open for set up, to not have heard anything at all is terrible service considering they were happy to take payment and bond money. Weddings are stressful enough for all involved and for there to be zero communication for such a big day for someone is unacceptable.We made alternative arrangements as we had heard nothing, so we were put out of pocket and had the added stress of having to arrange last minute.On the day we didn't check if the room had indeed been unlocked or not as expected, wedding days are very hectic. I've no idea if it was opened or not for us.We sent another email after the event expressing our dissatisfaction at how our booking was handled and asking when we could expect our bond back. Again, as expected we received no reply, no explanation or apology. We eventually for our bond back 17 days after the date we hired the room.
