where do I start? First thing is the public must learn the difference between the Whyalla City Council, who service the city, ( roads , rates and rubbish) AND the Whyalla City Council Elected Members. ( which well my mother always said if I had nothing nice to say then don't say it) a Council who in the past put up rates much higher than CPI making them unaffordable for the average low to middle income bracket. especially when many people in town lost employement opportunities. jobs, cuts in wages and most of all the values of property decreased by nearly 50%. Yeah I am stuck here for the moment, as soon as I can sell up I will be gone.

HERE is their story.. on Friday 19th july 2019 i recieved a call from the police that my dogs were on the street acting aggressive and barking. I return to the house minutes later to my loungeroom window wide open and the screen had been cut open freeing the dogs from their home onto the street to bark and act aggressive towards anyone that wasnt mum and dad. They were acting like any scared dog would act in this situation. Shortly after we return home to get our dogs back inside the Whyalla City Council dog catcher arrives and lets us know allegedly one nipped someone and they need to take the 4 pups into impound whilest they investigate the incident and they will bring them back in 7 business days making that wednesday 31st july. Dog catcher reassuring my partner whom has aspergus and other disabilities.. dogs are his life dog catcher assured him thats no harm will come to the dogs and they will be returned in 7 business days. So we load the dogs up expecting to see them in 7 business days, well come Monday 29th july 2019 Whyalla City Council workers attend to our property with police in hand to serve us with 4 pieces of paper issuing a destruction order on the 4 young pups claiming that they are a danger to public safety as they continue to act aggressive towards council workers in the impound cages stating they had to drug the dogs to calm them down, not only did they drug 4 young dogs under 12months old but they never even let us know what they had to do until days later just mention it in normal conversation like oh and by the way we had to drug your puppies. The Whyalla City Council And RSPCA whyalla have decided amongs them selves that they are too aggressive they have a pack mentality and will pack up if they have too if they get out into the pulic. Not giving the pups the opportunity to maybe be seperated and given new homes if we cant have them all but havent given them a chance to be better socialised and put in some training classes as they are all quiet young and have the potential to change around groups of people. They havent had much of a chance in whyalla to mingle with other people as we moved to the town into housing trust housing off the streets. Not knowing anyone we kind of kept to our selves and the dogs did to only really knowing mum/ dad and their siblings. So we mentioned to Council due to the amount of times the house has been broken into stuff broken stolen and dogs let out that we will be moving back to Adelaide where we have all our family and friends more of a support network and dogs can have more freedom out in the community. Socialise them with other people they are good with other animals just need a better understanding of people. Council decided with RSPCA Whyalla that they dont want to give these young dogs a chance just want to straight out destroy. I dont find it fair as they're quiet young and someone broke into their home and provocated them and let them out already stirred up and scared wondering what was going on. My self and partner just want our kids back they have the best personalities they truly are the softest dogs if given a chance they love animals and kids. Please Help Save these Precious Pups. They dont deserve the death penalty they are too Young i am here to speak for them please give them a chance in life...

I pay rates in two council areas and this council has by far the best rates for service. Beyond that the staff haven't failed to alleviate concerns about fire risks. Very proactive and friendly.
