Dinned here on a Wednesday evening. After experiencing this I believe this an iconic culinary dinner that everyone should try at least once. The views are iconic in a world class building.The wait staff here are the cream of the industry and are in the top 1%.My wife and I ate the classic menu as we heard many good things about the potato roe... and yes I am glad we did! We couldn't fault the menu. The oyster, the Murry Cod, the honey duck and desserts. The only thing that didn't sit well with me was the taste mulled wine dessert balls. The texture was amazing however wasn't to my liking.I will aim to return next season to try the new menu. BZ Clare Smyth.

Amazing experience at Oncore: incredible views of our beautiful harbour; service was impeccable from the moment we arrived. Loved how the kitchen welcomed us as we entered, a chef took us through both the first and last course. I received a beautiful additional treat for my birthday. Printed menu reflecting our dietary requirements. Hands down the best degustation experience I have ever had. Cannot wait to try Oncore again!

A solid 3.5 stars. Service was friendly and attentive. The open kitchen view is amazing and you can see how disciplined the chefs are at creating perfectly presented dishes. You don’t necessarily need a window seat as the seats in the middle of the dining area are facing the window so you get a good view from any seat.Was every dish mind blowing? No. The highlight was the potato and roe dish but honestly the others just faded into the background. The cheese and onion dish definitely needs a palate cleanser afterwards as the lingering onion taste was just a little too strong. The duck dish had an accompanying nectarine tart which was filled with more duck but to be honest, it reminded me of kibble and the taste wasn’t great either. The dessert was a bit of a let down and the only one I enjoyed was the apple. Their take on the Malteser was fairly uninteresting.For $340pp, I did expect better but everyone has a different opinion so I’d still recommend the experience for anyone wanting to add to their fine dining adventures.

Wow wow wow what can I say! What an experience by Clare Smyth.We did not get to try her food when she is up and coming (before she got a Michelin star) when we were in London. So we definitely would not miss the chance to try it in Sydney.Oncore is conveniently situated at the Crown so it was easy to get to. You get a good view of the harbour and the opera house from the restaurant .Food was impeccable , using many of the Australian produce such as Murray cod. The Malteaser was our favourite dish.The tasting menu was not cheap ..but worth the experience.Service was prim and proper.

Great views, amazing food and lovely staff! We could not book for our anniversary and they surprised us with a tasty white choc mouse so we could have an early celebration. The potato and duck were my favourites. We were full and $$$$ was worth spending.

My three takeaways from our first experience at Oncore are:- wonderful layered complex (but quite safe) flavours- impeccably matched wines- exceptional serviceWhat they do, they do perfectly, and rightly deserve placement in the top 5 restaurants in Australia. It's worth a visit for the potato dish alone.View and ambiance are best in town, full stop.Service was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Very well trained. Was good to see a diverse team, with lots of locals.If I have a complaint it's that it was too perfect. No risks taken. No edge. It reminded me of Le Bernardin in both positive and constrained ways. If you look through the last year of pictures, you will see a very consistent menu, which possibly enables this level of delivery, but I'm afraid it must inhibit creativity.My sincere desire is that the kitchen feels safe to take some risks as international travel, and demand, for this type of restaurant increases.They clearly have the chops.Loved, love, loved the bar for a cocktail after lunch.Thank you for opening in Sydney, and a beautiful afternoon.

The view, the service, the food, what an experience. We were quite lucky to have the best seating, totally unexpected that it was like having our own private dining area. The taste, presentation, especially with 5 staff serving us at each course at the same time was an experience. If you have a group of 5 or more, you will be seated at this private area highly likely.

This place is reserved for special occasions. Stunning views and beautiful menus, the food presentation is second to none. This is fine dinning at its peak. And the staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and switched on in addressing your needs - great service.
