Hamley Studio of Fine Art

This is such a charming art studio tucked away in Hamley Street in an industrial part of Mt Kuringai. The tutors, Sally and Ben are award winning artists including being finalists for the Archibald Prize, so they definitely know what they are talking about when it comes to technique! Courses run on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays with a week long portrait study coming up in July, so definitely worth investing in if you want to learn how to paint like the classic masters.

Instructors are very knowledgeable and supportive. Studio is well organised and located in a convenient location with lots of parking available. Also free tea & cookies )

I’ve been casually modelling for this studio for about two years now and it’s amazing the amount of informations and learning people get out of it. Sally and Ben are inviting all levels and walk them steps by steps if they need too. They learn modern classical painting including colours, basic anatomy etc... They do weekly classes but also 7 days intense workshop.Easy street parking.

5 very enthusiastic stars! I visited Hamley for a portraiture workshop. Sally and Ben were so generous with their time and knowledge. Beforehand I'd been feeling embarrassed about what I didn't know, but they so quickly were able to change my mindset to feeling excited about learning new things. Can't wait to head back there for another course soon!
