Artarmon Mechanical Repairs

Similar to many other customers, I had an excellent experience with Artarmon Mechanical Repairs, when my alternator crapped out at the worst possible time. On short notice, I dropped into their Reserve Road premises and Paul conducted a quick inspection to determine that my alternator had definitely failed and would need to be replaced. It only took a few days to locate a new replacement unit and for this to be installed in the place of the failed one. The price and quality of the service cannot be faulted. My car has been running beautifully ever since.

The older man (which I’m assuming is the owner) is very difficult. Went to do pink slips in the morning and he wanted to change the wipers despite there not being much wrong with the wipers. Told him no and left but later in the day I changed my mind and went back to him to change my wipers. He rudely told me to leave while flapping his arms infront of everyone. Not sure what his issue is as a simple conversation could’ve solved both our issues but guess he has too big of an ego to talk things out

My engine light came on and fearing the worst, I rang Paul at Artarmon Mechanical Repairs. I told Paul the make and model of the car, described the problem and he pretty much knew what the issue was, over the phone. I took the car in, the parts were ordered and all fixed. Paul also managed to source a second hand door latch cable that had broken and I previously couldn’t get fixed as the part is discontinued.Paul’s experience and expertise was obvious from the outset. The price is very reasonable.I’ve only recently moved to the area so I’m extremely pleased to find such a good mechanic nearby and Paul is a great guy!

Paul is extremely difficult to deal with, unhelpful and defensive in his communication. A part the garage replaced on our car has become faulty twice and he is now refusing to help further despite the second fault happening 3 months and 2 days since they supposedly fixed the issue.

My vehicle had been taken here for coolant leak repairs and a full service. As far as I know this was all done well and sound. Upon picking up my vehicle from where this mechanic had delivered it to I was appalled with the state it was in tree sap covering the entire vehicle enough to be severely damaging to the paintwork and sticky enough that my windows would not go down. Very lucky I had ceramic coating done only weeks prior and hoping with a good detail it will be repairable. When I rang to speak to the mechanic to try get an understanding on why this had happened he said in his word who cares these things happen and it was because he had parked it for a night under his house. I found this very rude and some swear words were exchanged on his part. I would not recommend anybody to go to for any service with this mechanical branch as clearly they do not take care or pride in the work that they do.

Honest advice, so helpful in a crisis (breakdown) and fair prices. Thank you for helping me when I broke down in Sydney. You really did everything you could to get me back on the road asap.

Ladies especially - could not recommend Paul and his team more highly. The most transparent, helpful, and experienced mechanic I have ever had. Paul was recommended to me after my car completely died (the mechanic I was using at the time had no idea what was wrong and no idea how to fix it, but were charging me for work that wasn't needed and also not doing work I was being charged for). Paul went above and beyond to give me a car back that he was 100% confident with and kept me updated the whole time. My car is driving like an absolute dream, I'm so grateful and will not be going anywhere else!

Sent my car in on a Saturday morning at 8am and was fixed immediately by Paul (minor issue causing a major engine oil leak). A very happy customer
