An important part of Australia's oil shale history.My wife and I took the tour on the 20/2/2021and found it to be very informative. Our friendly tour guide Graeme meet us at the gates a bit before 5pm on the Saturday evening. We were joined by another couple joining the tour before driving through the gates and following our guide to the original levee bank surrounding the site of the refinery.Graeme talked about the creation of the oil shale and other geological features of the valley before we walked down the road to the remains of the refinery gates. As we continued along the concrete driveway we stopped at different locations and were given detailed descriptions of each section of the site along with some history relating to each of the areas.This is a tour I would recommend to anybody. It has so much to offer with stunning views of towering sandstone cliffs surrounding the refinery runes, wildlife of all descriptions and with the afternoon light the opportunity to capture some great photographic images. I also purchased the Glen Davis hard cover book from our guide at the end of the tour which is loaded with information and wonderful images of the past.I would recommend ringing ahead and confirming you interest in a tour.
