Bendora Boarding Kennels & Cat Flats

We left our dog and cat at this kennel for two weeks. I was extremely nervous as this was the first time our animals had been to a boarding kennel. This kennel does have slightly aged facilities, but our animals were happy and clearly well cared for. Our dog was in the day run when we returned and we could see her from afar, happily running around. Our cat was it's usual grumpy self when we picked him up and had been snuggled up sleeping happily and warm. Although not being as good as being home, we left feeling very satisfied that our animals were well cared for.

My dogs were in their care for 24 hours and when I picked them up they were deeply distressed. Hearts racing. Panting like they'd just done a marathon. One of them had damaged their vocal cords and is still hoarse 5 days later. We've never had this happen at any other boarding kennel. I don't know why they were so stressed but it was not ok. I had a similar experience the first time I left my pets there in 2005. I thought they may have improved since those days but apparently not. I wont be using them again.

I am absolutely appalled by my experience with Bendora. I had my dog booked in to drop off on Sunday, I called on Saturday to confirm drop off would be Sunday as I was flying out. My partner took her there at 9:30am and was looking for someone for half an hour with no response. I was trying to call both the landline and the mobile with no response. I left 2 messages on each phone, 4 in total. By 2:30pm with no response my partner had to take my dog to another boarding kennel. Left stressed and disappointed I finally had my call returned at 12pm the next day. I was told that the person who was meant to be there “forgot she was meant to be working” and the owner had no phone reception for the calls to get through to the mobile. Furthermore, during the phone call to apologise, there was no attempt to remedy the situation and attempted to deflect blame to my partner. I was told the person who was working arrived there at 2:30pm, but I did not receive a phone call until 12pm the next day. Why wasn’t I called when they arrived at work, checked the answering machine and noticed my dog wasn’t there? Completely let down and left upset, stressed and disappointed. I hope the other dogs are ok there if they “forget they are working”. I will never be able to trust Bendora again as they are uncontactable and staff forget to work..they are peoples pets, peoples family, they should not “forget” to go to work!

Happy with the care but would have appreciated having it explained that a 29 hour stay would cost $54 dollars for a small dog! Not sure how per day charge works when you can only drop off and pick up between 0800 and 1600. That equates to $27 for 8 hours!!

My family has boarded our cats and dog at Bendora for years. They are always well cared for and always come back happy and healthy.

Always reliable and the carers do what they can. But no dog walking services are available- and essentially dogs always barking in concrete cages.

We have been relying on Bendora Boarding Kennels to take care of our animals whenever we are away for several years now and have always been happy with the service they provide. The staff are friendly and they kind to my pets, thanks Bendora for the great job you do.

Great kennel! Always happy to see you and your pet, and look after them with absolute care and patience. My dog is pretty silly and a bit of a pest but they seem to love him as much as I do. Highly recommend.
