More Than Meat

I placed an order for a Fresh turkey to be picked up on Christmas Eve morning, at the time stating that it is very important that this is a fresh turkey so that I can prep it Christmas Eve for our huge family Christmas Day lunch. I went to pick up my $90 Turkey on Christmas Eve at 9:00 am and was presented with a frozen Turkey! After I explained that I can do nothing with this and that if I wanted a frozen Turkey I could have gone to a supermarket instead of supporting my local butcher, I was assured that they would deliver one to me within a couple of hours. To their credit they did, however it was not the usual plump fresh looking Turkey that we are used to getting from our butcher in Gymea, that has sadly closed down. I will not be returning to this butcher again, this is a shame as I do prefer to support local businesses instead of chain stores.

Absolutely shocking service, got a quote for a first birthday party and when we went to pick it up they charged 50% more. We called later, the owner answered the call agreed we were overcharged and palmed the call off to their worker. The worker replied if you dont like it you can bring the Sausages back" just shameful response."

We have used More than Meat numerous times for their pulled pork (which is amazing) and their pulled lamb trays (also amazing). We recently ordered salads from them which were so fresh and lovely, meat and chicken wings. All guests commented on how nice everything was. The staff are always so helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Highly recommend!

Just had origin nights rib special. Have to say best I’ve had anywhere. So good will be back.

I am really disappointed with my recent experience with this small business and I have no joy in writing this review, however how I was treated deserves to be called out. My family were regular customers of more than meat and have been for a couple of years now. I phoned 2 weeks in advance to order 80 sausages for a birthday, they quoted me over the phone $80 for 80 sausages and I was happy and agreed to place the order for pick up. I sent a family member down on the day to pick up the order and return to find a receipt attached to the order next to the quote which was for the amount of $120. I immediately called to question the situation in a calm manner as I thought there just must of been an error except I was met with an extremely rude tone and dismissive attitude to my query by the owner. He then passed the call on to the person whom had taken my order and he explained he quoted me the wrong price and if I didn't want the sausages to bring them back. So if I had taken food produce from a business and then return it what were they intending to do with it? Sell it on or destroy it? I'm pretty disappointed how this situation was handled, in my opinion as soon as the employee knew he under quoted me why didn't he call to rectify the situation and advise the correct price which would have been a way better way of handling THEIR ERROR, in which I would have still gone ahead with the order and understood everyone makes mistakes. But he didn't so that makes the situation very different, you can't quote someone a price then charge a completely different price without a discussion, that is just bad business...

Thankyou so much to Steve & the team at More Than Meat. We had some catering over the weekend and it was seriously delicious. From slow cooked meats, to creamy potato bakes and fresh salads, everything was perfection !I would definitely recommend their catering to anyone who is having an event !

Wow don’t go last this Company for your party.Very easy to cater your party with their help .They have full catered or part catered.I choose part catered ordered Slow cooked lamb , pulled pork, BBQ chicken.Lamb was sensational.Salads and vegetables.Everything was just delicious for 54 people.Highly recommend this Company.Thank youTerry

Fantastic service.Steve was extremely helpful and even arranged to get a Bain Marie in for me as all of theirs had already been hired out! Food was delicious and everybody at the gathering commented how good it was. I would highly recommend this company

This is the best butcher in the Sutherland Shire. Roast meat, vegetables and potato bake cooked daily for easy dinners.Awesome in winter on a Friday night while watching the footy. In house pickled and smoked ham that is absolutely sensational.There effort to detail and drive to put only the best in the shop makes this store a stand out. Flavoured snags amazing try the pumpkin and feta. All steak is constantly perfect. Bread, eggs and milk available. They also do catering for parties and events. My cut of choice the rump don't have to spend big $$$ on steak at a quality butcher to get awesome meat.Recommended highly.

Steve and team at more than meat were unreal! Catered for my engagement party with a variety of dishes that everyone enjoyed!! Particularly the pulled pork soft shell tacos, mini cheeseburgers and slow cooked mini lamb rolls were crazy good. He was very accomodating and highly recommend.
