Our challenge was to replace the broken up asphalt surface of our commercial -Industrial 15 lot cark park with a more durable concrete surface.This work had some specific requirements that were a real challenge as the carpark area is also used by loaded trucks and forklifts so it need to be ultra strong and durable to handle the load.A further requirement with seven different businesses operating from the site was to minimise shutdown times for the duration of the work.No wonder out of the eight companies I called to quote only three responded. The challenge was more than most companies could deliver or were prepared to tryFortunately for us Matt Hardy from HCS concreters arrived on site, and my first impression was he was really easy to deal with, was customer focused in what we required and was prepared to see those requirements fullfilled.Matt gave professional advice on what type of concrete to use as well as steel size and durable finish that would handle the proposed truck and forklift loads thereby protecting our investment from potential defects as the overall cost of the project was substantial.Most importantly, Matt mapped out a work arrangement that minimised critical business shutdown times by completing each section within three days and all delivered in the most cost effective manner.We are now halfway through the project and are extremely pleased with the transformation the new concrete has provided compared to the old asphalt.I would highly recommend Matt and his team to any strata management company that requires a similar project to be undertaken as you will receive no nonsense professional advice with a willingness to work to your specific needs while focusing on a first class finish and, most importantly, all delivered within a competitive and cost effective price range.Well done to Matt and his team !!

HiI always feel matt was such a nice guy when you speak with him so given him 20% non refundable amounts to secure spot to do coloured concrete pathway around house on April 2022, promised to complete by June 2022. But he took nearly a year to finish the job Jan 2023 may be due to weather or he busy with other projects.Hcs poured concrete directly over soil no compaction with sand or gravel.Caused efflorescence on concrete tooLater on 2 days after he came with his angle grinder to cut control joint / expansion jointCut was only 1-1.5 cm deep for 110m slabAs per Australian standards cut need to be 1/4 of slab thickness so it should be 2.5 cm deep.And need to be cut with in 12-18 hours, otherwise shrinkage crack developed alreadyNo curing post pouring.Due to this pathway slab developed few crack 1.5 mm to 1.7mm wide crack.When requested him to fix it , matt reported crack need to be more than 4mm wide as nsw tolerance guide AS 2870: Residential slabs and footings . Also told me am unfortunate to have a crack.I was really upset when he said I am unfortunate , so I decided to spend money on building inspector, building inspector told meThe cracking the concrete guy are referring to for residential concrete slabs ( house slabs) not residential paving ( paths) as found in AS3727.1The table in AS 3727.1 states cracking limit to be less than or equal to 1.0mm. Which HCS won’t agreeMatt reported crack need to be half cm 0.4 cm above in order to fix it.Not sure who is right expert witness ncat building inspector or concrete guy?Also I choose black velvet coloured concrete for pathway in order to match with my current drivewayEnded with light blue colour and efflorescence , Matt reported it’s not his issue, it can be the issue from concrete company easy mix concrete company or from colour mix Cathy company. Advised me to clear seal or colour seal on my expenses.Not sure who is right hereBasically you done a good job except the crack ,efflorescence and colour of concrete , which I think you could avoid itAs a consumer I was really not happy with those 1.5-1.7mm wide crack in one weekThanksArun
