Bathurst Street Workshop

Visiting from NSW, I dropped in to see what they could do about my handbrake.Sure not a problem

Had my car towed into their workshop and was told after an inspection that i needed to replace my air conditioner pump and condenser that it would be $1350. Got my car back at 6pm same day, had the vehicle for only 5 days before having air conditioning problems again. Took the car to an air conditioning specialist to be told that the condenser was full of oil caused by mechanic over oiling it. I paid an additional $800 for new mechanic to flush all the oil out but after getting it back the damage was already done and the new condenser has also now seized. I am now looking at another $1400 to have it replaced. I called and emailed Bathurst st workshop and spoke to the owner Michael and he refused to acknowledge that they could have done anything wrong and will not refund or cover this under warranty! I am shocked at the level of customer care or service. Do not use this mecahnic as they do not provide any workmanship or parts warranty!

Very friendly and professional mechanics. They are good value and go above and beyond the call of duty. My car was making a strange noise for a while and they took it out multiple times over a few days to diagnose it, turns out nothing was wrong and they didn't charge me despite me wasting their time.

Sorted our cooling system issues on the spot. Gave us options and explained them clearly. Had stock of a relatively rare replacement radiator and made extra effort to get it from the warehouse for us to fit in with our very busy day. Going back there today to get another vehicle sorted.

Fantastic friendly customer service. Squeezed us in on short notice so we could continue our holiday. Rang ahead before proceeding when the job was more than initially thought. Explained everything as we went and even gave recommendations in what to see and do while we waited in town. Accomadated my camper trailer and even done a few extra little jobs, whilst letting me know a few other small issues with the car. After all this we still stayed in budget with a very reasonable price. Would definitely be a returning customer if I didn't live 700 of kms away. Thanks guys. Can't recommend enough

Personable and honest. Made our headache of a car breakdown less of a nightmare. Put in work to search for a secondhand part with our budget in mind. Was transparent and detailed in estimate, and charged fairly for their estimate. We ended up choosing to limp our car home to Hobart. We would have 100% gone with Bathurst Street Mechanical if we lived in town.
