THE FRENCH PROVIDORE MOORABBIN

People rave about this little place. So I thought I'd give it a try. Went with three people. The pumpkin soup was a little heavy handed on the herbs for us. So not really a fan. The baguettes were fresh and enjoyable. The crepes with chocolate and banana were quite good. The people working there were lovely. Nice shop with a good selection of products to purchase. It was nice but nothing that would make me say wow I have to go back again.

We bought some products for our office annual party, I can not believe how good it was. Even better than I remember from my trip in France. The best quality I found in Melbourne. Definitely recommend them.

Finally visited after going past several times and was interested to see what was on offer. An amazing selection of French jams, mustards, biscuits, spreads, dressings and more. Limited fresh food on display to take away, sweet pastries, croissants, baguettes, individual quiche portions and yes the obligatory snails in garlic butter but that's it, was hoping more on offer. Ordered soy latte which was excellent and brought sweet pastry for husband. Would go back for the coffee. However I wonder if the French Providore in the right location? This destination store would be at home in Church Street, Brighton or Hampton Street, Hampton so surprised to see it in Station Street and if you are familiar with the area you will know what I mean. But what must be highlighted is that the French Providore imports foie gras. The production of foie gras is banned in Australia but sadly its importation is not. 30.6 called in for coffee (soy latte) and it was delicious and accompanied by a little pastry bite.

Delicious food, best service, highly recommended! Especially my husband loves this shop’s coffee rather than somewhere else! It is a must try with other dishes.

If you can't travel to France at the moment, you can definitely eat some of the best French fare that I've had in Melbourne.All pastries are made in house. My butter croissant was hot, crispy and melt in my mouth goodness.I also tried a vegetarian Cheese Salad. This was 3 delicious oven baked goat cheese toasts with a hint of Moit Acacia honey and and a side of salad.The cheese toasts was crunchy ... perfect. The goats cheese was absolutely delicious with a deep flavour.The salad was really fresh, with walnuts, dried apricots & balsamic vinegar.The service is excellent. Genuinely warm and friendly. They have a large range of imported French staples such as jams, preserves, preserved fruits and biscuits in the cutest tins.Next time I am trying the duck burger, it sounds delicious.Near the train station with lots of street parking this place is a must visit.Collab.

Croissants and bread are the best in Melbourne, and it took me back to France !!! Served by Adam who is so lovely. I highly recommend both stores in Moorabbin and Hampton !!!

Food is delightful, very friendly owners. Pate' is out of this world!!
