Love it here. The menu has changed somewhat, over the years, and these days they seem to focus on pasta, pizza, antipasti, and great wine.

We had Christmas lunch here and it was honestly the most disappointing experience. Have eaten here before and it was fantastic so this was so confusing. The bread was stale, the duck was dry and the food was so tasteless. Service was lovely though for the most part, although the manager was completely dismissive when we let her know our food was disappointing.

The rudest staff - led by the maitre-de (roids, tatts) - who wereinattentive throughout the night.We ordered a pizza and pasta to share. The pizza was served piping hot and was delicious (a truffle pizza) - arguably the best pizza in Sydney. The pasta was delivered to the table at the same time and was luke warm (so must have been made first and delayed to wait for the pizza). No replenishment of water or asking if we wanted more drinks - just poor service. My husband reminded me we should have gone to I Gladiatori Osteria Romana in Freshie where the service is great - next time.

We just ate a Christmas lunch at AcquaFresca by Pilu.It was very disappointing considering the price .They were obviously under staffed, and this had a huge effect on the service.We ordered our drinks and they sat on the bar for 10 mins ,I had to ask the waitress who was lovely, but clearly under a lot of pressure, to bring them over to us .The first course was served on stale bread ,the prawns were delicious, the lobster pasta was delicious.The salad came out and was sitting below the rim of the bowl, we, a party of 5 barely had a desert spoon full of unseasoned salad leaves each.,The main dish followed and was 3 trimmed duck legs with 5 baby carrots and roast potatoes which we had to share between 5 Adults ,the dessert tasted like it was .a frozen SaraLee packet .

Had the pork cotoletta. $45 and looked very pretty. However the taste was not great. Very mild and the salad only had a hint of citrus and olive oil. I would not recommend this dish as better alternatives can be found. Nice restaurant but at least this food a little meh.

I had a birthday party here and could not be thankful for the wonderful service, food and organisation. Everything went off beautifully and it was lovely to enjoy a day knowing someone had taken care of everything for you. Thank you again and it is such a pleasure to come here to eat because it is the best Italian food ever!

We stumbled upon Hardboard Diggers while checking out the Northern Beaches, what a great place!!!Underground parking space on a Sunday, very upmarket new club with 4 restaurants - we shared a pizza (beautifully cooked) and a Panna Cotta for desert.Our outdoor table had a private outlook over a native garden which was wonderful.The staff of Aquafresca were attentive and courteous.I thoroughly recommend the location and the restaurant.

A mixed night - one pizza served fresh out of the oven and a luke warm pasta served together (so the pasta must have been made first and instead of being brought to the table sat waiting for the pizza to be made).The maitre de was rude and arrogant and then our waiter wasn't much better - not at all attentive (we ran out of both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks) and ended up going back into the Harbord Diggers for another round of drinks - lol, you know when it all get's too hard.Next time I'll go to I Gladiatori Osteria Romana in Freshie where the service is great.

Table service was good but the initial walk in service was poor. Lady was a bit rude in her tone asking us if we had a booking, then instead of allowing us to pick a table, was just going to seat us in the middle, so I felt bad asking for a table along the back wall, even though no one was sitting there.The mocktails were nice and food came out quickly. The arancini could’ve done with more sauce.The gnocchi didn’t taste homemade as it was kind of hard. The sauce was nice however, good size portion. The pizza was good too.
