Initially started to help the owners cattle station survive through drought, this pioneer inspired accommodation is like stepping back in time....with some modern amenities to get you through.The rooms have been lovingly modelled on how early settlers would have lived and the family also run a number of experiences in and around Longreach and the Station Store across from the rooms.The rooms were clean and the service was friendly and efficient. We had the buffet breakfast one morning and even this was an experience.Would definitely stay here again, yet another gem for outback Qld tourists to enjoy.

Character filled quirky room. Well presented and comfortable. Make sure you feel comfortable with your room mates as bathroom is separated by 1.5m wall. Neighbours could be heard coming and going as doors were audible from first light. But, most unwelcome was the knock on our door by housekeeping at 8.30am, when checkout is at 10am. To her credit, Maree(?), resolved this to our satisfaction prior to our departure.

We arrived late from a 13 hour day of travel, staff responded quickly to our emails regarding a late check in, easy to manage, super helpful. We stayed at the stables & we were soPleasantly surprised. Such a beautiful room, with everything & more. Such comfy beds, so clean & I loved the staging of the rooms, so perfect. Thank you so much, after a long 2 days of travel & our last leg tomorrow , we are so grateful for our stay. Thank you.

Excellent accommodation in the most convenient location!! The rooms are clean, pillows puffed and beds super comfortable. Styled with an early settler theme, it is high end accommodation in the outback!! Can recommend the buffet breakfast at the Welcome Home across the street. Thank you for a wonderful stay xx

Room was tidy, bed comfortable. Curtains let in too much light and the windows would rattle with any wind.Breakfast was the saviour, great range and good food but don't need to stay to get breakfast!

Beautiful outback-themed accommodation full of thoughtful touches - staying here is an experience in itself! Delicious buffet breakfast at The WelcomeHome restaurant is a great way to start a day of exploring in the outback too. The staff here are as friendly and welcoming as you will find anywhere in Australia. This is a true asset to Longreach.

I can highly recommend The Staging Post to stay in Longreach. Position is perfect, room was as expected & extremely clean! Above all, the hotel staff were outstanding. ‘T’ was so accommodating during our stay & went above and beyond picking up and dropping us off to the airport.Absolutely fantastic & will be back.
