Kenilworth Homestead

Easily my favourite camp grounds in Queensland! Beautiful scenery and animals. The staff are professional and friendly, they just add to the experience of staying at the homestead! Kenilworth town is 5 minutes away and has the most amazing cheese factory with great prices.

After reading bad reviews on local camping groups I was hesitant to give this place a go but thought give it benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately lived up to its bad reviews.The lady at front desk was rude and unwelcoming. They packed you in like sardines to say the least..honestly couldnt find a clear patch of grass you are right ontop of people. LOUD PARTYS AND MUSIC UNTIL 2AM. ZERO NIOSE RESITRICTIONS IN PLACE. Very disappointing. The strong smell of certain drugs wiffting through to camping grounds to add the bogan abuance. Will never return and won't recommend unfortunately will try other surrounding camping grounds. Hot showers are a jokes discusting never get cleaned smelt of urine and only 3 showers for the amount of people camping there. Dont bother trying to have a hot shower after 2pm either it will be freezing cold. An over let down!!

We thought we had found our new favourite camp-site, this changed quickly once the sun went down! Music from nearly camp site was so loud we couldn't hear each other talk, people screaming and swearing. The toilets absolutely stunk of what I would assume was illegal substances. It was such an unpleasant experience we packed up camp at 9:30pm and drove home. We went camping to recharge and relax, but left feeling the complete opposite, worse thing is we paid for it! I reached out to the homestead to address my concerns. They attempted to call while I was working and couldn't answer. I tried to call back within the time frames they gave me with no answer. I haven't heard anything else since. I refrained from writing a bad review incase they made another attempt to contact given it has been 4 weeks. Super disappointing. If you're keen to party and let loose, this is the place to go apparently.

We only stayed one night, but would have stayed longer if we could have. I expected it to be really crowded as the traffic going north from Brisbane was pretty heavy. However, it was not crowded at all, and we were told to set up our camp wherever we wanted.This place is huge, with a few (large) zones within which to camp. The campsite was incredibly overcrowded. I appreciate that Easter is a popular weekend for camping but I think most people would prefer numbers to be capped at something a little more reasonable. I don't think many people choose camping so they can be set up wall to wall with other campers.There were so many dogs running around off leash and barking constantly so I'm glad we didn't bring our dog as she would have found this intimidating.Portaloos were kept clean which was great. Shower facilities were minimal, I found a block of 3 showers. Considering the steep price ($150 for 2 adults) and the crazy number of campers I'd expect a bit more for amenities.There was great access to the Mary River for swimming.Unfortunately this isn't our idea of a relaxing camp ground so we won't be back.

Amazing campground with beautiful scenery. Well maintained, friendly and helpful staff, and clean ameneties.

I have been visiting Kenilworth Homestead since I was a child and I would highly recommend it for those looking to spend time with family or a small group of friends. The camping ground provides plenty of space and there is a delightful swimming spot along the creek that guests can enjoy.

We recently stayed at the homestead for the first time for four nights. On the first couple of nights over the weekend was extremely busy and some people where quite loud and not considerate of other campers. Believe one group came in after hours and left before hours and were so noisy leaving glass and cans around their spot disappointing for the people who come for a relaxing time and pay for their site and leave the place better than they arrive. Grounds are well maintained. We are self contained so no major issues for us but looking at the amenities for the quantity of people that use the park at any one time the amenities are minimal. Only three showers. No dump point for self contained and no water for self contained had to head into town. Free dump point at the show grounds which was handy. Dog friendly which was great. Everyone appears to clean up after their pets. Our dogs loved the place. Once the weekend campers left the last couple of days the place felt like you had the place almost to yourself. If you want space and serenity then come mid week for this place. Extremely busy for the weekend.

Stayed for two nights, beautiful scenery. Our dogs loved going for long walks around the property and thoroughly enjoyed spending time down by the water. Place wasn’t crowded either (midweek off-peak).
