Kiah Park Horse Riding Camp

This was my first pony camp and I was very disappointed, when I was there a lot of the horses hooves were over grown and cracked, most horses were on the skinny side and the some of the supervisors were quite rude to myself, and other campers (some were absolutely lovely though) and a few seemed very uninterested in horses or being at the camp and seemed to know little about horses. All there was to it was doing trail riding, didn’t teach anything on ground like how to lung or anything like that (anything other than trial riding I believe you have to pay for). If you enjoy trail rides then you will enjoy this camp but I was expecting more of an all round experience rather just 2 trials rides a day. Gymkarna was fun though as they were getting you to be steady and not just race around

Brisbane parents be careful when booking their camps... they can cancel the bus transportation option without informing (I found out from a friend) you and then refuse to refund your camp payment when you can't make the 8 hr return trip to pick up your child because you didn't cancel within their refund window.They then tried to tell me that I couldn't have caught the bus there anyway because it was booked out"!! - Which doesn't make sense as their reason for cancelling the return bus to Brisbane was that there were "not enough people".Very disappointed in their lack of integrity especially during what is a very difficult time for our family. The camp was mean for my daughter to have a break from all the hospital visits and stress of a traumatic experience."

I did the Christmas Holiday camp and can't stop thinking about how amazing it is there. The staff are all brilliant and make sure that your stay at Kiah is 5 stars. I literally cried when it was time to go home because I didn't want to leave. An amazing camp for beginners and experienced riders alike, will definitely be going back.

Wow.. Kiah Park still going strong, well done! am late 50's now.. and went to Kiah Park for a week with my brother when we were around 12 yrs old. Still often reflect on our week of riding and gymkhana there as the highlight of my youth .. some things we never forget :-) Keep up the beaut work making a positive difference to all the kids who are blessed with the opportunity to enjoy your Horse riding Holiday Farm - was so much fun !Nats

New owners are a lovely young family who have kept the great riding instructors and the relaxed and fun approach to day rides and riding camps. Set in an idyllic and picturesque location it was a stress relief just to drive up there and hang out for a few hours. My daughter loved her pony and the trail ride. We will be back soon!

New owners are brilliant! Amazing place, somewhere I highly recommend you send your kids to. Gets them off technology and into a real farm setting where they will make friends for life. 20 years on since I was a camp kid and I’m still in touch with my mates from there. New owners Jody and Laine facilitated a reunion for us and the original owners, and we couldn’t be more pleased. It was brilliant to be back there, and they provided 5 star service for us all round. We will be back when we can organise another weekend with this beautiful family.

Such a well organised camp, enrollment and parent communication was really easy. My 2 girls were matched with beautiful horses last year, who they have raved about ever since. We are definitely going back again as an annual holiday now, these times are creating beautiful memories in their childhood years, and a major part of their development.

When my daughter first went to Kiah Park she had never ridden a horse but after one lesson she could trot and go on trail rides. Nell enjoyed having her own horse for the week (brushing and grooming it) and was particularly exited for Gymkana (a competition they do at the end of the week)at which she won two second place ribbons. Nell also liked the food and dorms and made new friends, two of which she is still in contact with. My daughter loved swimming in the dam, zip lining and making damper as well as movie night, whip cracking, camp fire and all of the other activities they do throughout the week. Altogether Kiah park is a wonderful experience that I would highly recommend to any stage of horse rider, we will be back!!!
