Beautiful and modern restaurant with an outlook over the vineyards including a field of sunflowers. Tried the 3 courses at Essen and the food and wine was delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. Great way to showcase some of the boutique and smaller batch wineries that Barossa has to offer. A definite recommend. Dogs are allowed in the stunning outdoor area. There is also a delicatessen for more casual dining and a large size wine tasting area.

Incredible. Food, service, ambience. World class. The bread is to die for. Michelle our server was top notch. She was very attentive to what we need and possibly want. Amazing. Been around the world and this is one of the best expeiences.

I feel like I need to write 2 different reviews for this experience. First one is the regarding the wine tasting I had with Jane and Mathew. They were so attentive and full of knowledge. They really took me on a wine journey explaining varietals and different blends as we moved through the list. Definitely will be back for that and also recommend them to friends. The second part of my review is related to the restaurant which wasn't great. I would give 3 stars perhaps. The food was just ok. Nothing crazy. They were out of asparagus for the dish I've ordered and they said they would replace with mushrooms. However the serve was so small and I don't think they really added extra mushrooms. Also the chef rang the bell several times at once, which is not nice as he had more than on dish ready to be run. I come from hospo and ringing the bell several times at once is not really nice to staff and customers. I believe floor staff needed more coaching instead of telling them what to do. Regardless of this experience I would totally come back and will recommend this venue for sure. Thank you for the amazing time trying delicious wines.

Beautiful spot for wine tasting and some nibbles. Good gluren free and dairy free options from the delicatessen.

Amazing venue and concept in the Barossa. We thoroughly enjoyed the wines. Our host was knowledgeable but spent a lot of the tasting time talking about the venue her husband works at - Torbrek - which we had visited the day before. we found this odd as we were eager to learn more about the many small producers that are on show - we had a torbrek experience the day before

What a truly wonderful experience! We were warmly welcomed by Matthew who expertly took us through an informative, personal wine tasting. His level of knowledge and expertise, as well as his congenial nature added to the whole experience. We then had the privilege of meeting a local winemaker whose presence and conversation enriched our wine tasting experience. Without a doubt, Artisans of the Barossa is a highly-recommend, must-do wine tasting if you’re after a memorable experience in the beautiful Barossa.

An excellent wine tasting, with loads of interesting information about each vineyard and each winemaker. Having 8 different winemakers available in one tasting is a brilliant way to taste the Barossa, and I highly recommend splashing out for the Rarities tasting - one of the wines we tried goes for $189 a bottle! We then enjoyed thoroughly delicious bread, meats, olives, cheeses, pate, and a scrumptious Reuben sandwich out on the lawn overlooking the vines. A great place to experience the heart of the Barossa Valley!

Popped in on Easter Monday around 1pm. Staff appeared frantic and made numerous comments about being understaffed so I initially felt for them.Outside there were a number of seats available so we were able to sit under one of the umbrellas (umbrella 3) next to a larger group (umbrella 2).What really let the visit down was how staff were continuously complaining about the group seated at umbrella 2. I don’t know what transcribed before we got there but when I went inside hearing staff complain and speak poorly of this group really wasn’t impressive. Even less impressive was when a staff member then made the assumption that my husband who was sitting under umbrella 3 as I came into order was part of the larger group who were “taking over another space” and would need speaking to (nope - they weren’t taking over, it was just another Asian in the venue). The afternoon didn’t improve. 2/3 of our order was given to umbrella 4 who arrived after us and we had to follow up 3 times with staff. A bowl of cold nuts didn’t come out until we were ready to leave.Unfortunately during this time multiple waitstaff spoke so poorly to the group next to us. For example when they asked to confirm some food being brought out for them was for their table the waitress barked back “well the order is for umbrella 2 & this is umbrella 2” and walked off. Another waiter brought out coffees to umbrella 2 who said it wasn’t theirs and he said he’d check and never came back. Another waitress then came out and barked at the table for accepting coffees that weren’t theirs (and yet no one told off umbrella 4 for accepting our food). The outside area is lovely, the food itself was fine. But the attitude of some of your staff and the way they spoke to paying patrons in front of other patrons was horrible, especially when orders were going to wrong tables/umbrellas/areas all around us. Instead of focusing of why a group is annoying you, maybe focus on the basics.I feel for the staff who were trying their best and felt the venue was understaffed, but compared to other places we visited over the weekend that were busier, unfortunately Artisans didn’t live up the the hype.

The best wine tasting and dining experience in the Barossa. My group of four started our visit with a ‘Discover Barossa’ tasting expertly led by the team. We sampled six wines each, of our own individual choosing, with a bonus seventh thrown in thanks to Dan, one half of the Chaffey Bros, who was in residence on the day.All our questions were answered, our wine choices informed and we were made to feel most welcome (never rushed) throughout the tasting experience. We followed our tasting with lunch at Essen, another fabulous experience with exquisite food to match the full Artisans experience.
