Charley's Chocolate Factory

I gave the Factory a 5/5 because they make their own chocolate from tree to bar. It's not Cadbury but locally made with an international flair. Don't expect a Disneyland experience but a simple, handmade chocolate experience where the flavour & taste is front & centre

Chris led an informative and interesting tour. Cacao is grown and processed on the property and you can purchase chocolate. Kids are kept entertained with colouring books.

Fantastic experience learning the history and art of a Tree to Table enterprise that rates in the world's top 50. The wonderful hosts share their amazing journey and vast learnings along the way. A must do for everyone.

Great time, guide was very knowledgeable and shared interesting facts and showed us around, would have preferred spending more time exploring the factory and their processes as we spent more than half of the time seated at the waiting area watching a slideshow with the guide. Tasting chocolate menu was slightly disappointing even though the chocolates were nice, I would have preferred more variety as he did introduce a lot of flavors but the ones we tried were rather standard, only had 2-3 interesting flavors. Bought the dark chocolate with salt and I’m surprised at how I didn’t quite like it. The dark chocolate was SO good but the salt wasn’t mixed into the chocolate it was more like a layer laid on the top before the chocolate hardened so it was actually super salty instead

I love the Charlies macadamia range also enjoyed the Davidson plum.Salted caramel was nice, the coffee bar a bit different. Every bar is well made AAAA+.One thing I ready enjoyed was how fast it come to my door, they were well packed.One thing you do notice is the company goes out of their way for their customers from email notifications and invoice.Can’t wait to see the Easter range hint may be a Davidson plum rabbit.

We were very keen to visit this place after we saw their chocolates at a store in Mission Beach.The tour was very informative with a great lesson to how they make their chocolate as well as a history lesson which we did not expect on the origins of chocolate. It’s the only place in Australia where they grow the cocoa bean, so that was so cool to know!The tour also takes you through the orchard, you can sample the chocolates, you get a basic lunch and you can buy some chocolates at the end. Even in the rain this is a great tour. The hosts, Chris and Lyn are knowledgeable and communicate so much information in a well organised and entertaining package. They exude enthusiasm for their business. It was most interesting to learn about the process from seed to finished chocolate bar and the chocolate tasting....mmmmm! A burger lunch is provided cooked by the local Lions Club. There is plenty of opportunity to purchase the products. Support for local growers and the community is most evident. Excellent value!
