Selective Fine Fabrics

I went into the shop to get some inspiration for a dress for my brothers wedding, an hour later Anna and Louise had found a beautiful fabric I loved and helped me get the idea of my dress in the end. Lots of great fabrics and Louise really knows her stuff. Excited to see the finished product!

I purchased bridal fabric for my wedding dress through Anna and cannot recommend her enough!Anna was reassuring, patient, helpful and saved me literally hundreds of dollars by suggesting substitute fabrics that were just as beautiful as the expensive stuff.The whole process was quick and easy for me, plus Anna was so wonderfully friendly.Thank you!!!

On walking through the door of Selective Fine Fabrics, I was greeted with such a welcoming smile from Anna. I had recently started the search for my wedding dress but quickly found that the ideal dress had a very expensive price tag! Anna made me feel extremely special when I came in and worked with me to find the makings of my perfect wedding dress. Not only was the fabric she selected absolutely amazing, but it was pure silk - much better quality than the dresses I had tried on and for 1/5 of the price! In fact, I loved Selective Fine Fabrics so much that I bought the material for my bridesmaid dresses there too. On my wedding day all the dresses were perfect and I could not have been happier! II cannot thank Ana and all the staff at Selective Fine Fabrics enough for the way they worked together to find all my dress materials. Each of them went over and beyond to make sure that everything was perfect for my wedding day. Thank you so much for everything!

I had such a positive experience buying fabrics through Selective Fine Fabrics in Upper Mount Gravatt! The team there were so helpful in finding high quality fabrics that would be ideal for creating my wedding dress. They were very generous with their time on all occasions that I visited the store, and gave suggestions for what fabrics would be best for achieving the look I desired. The range of fabrics in store is fantastic and great for varying budgets. Highly recommend!

I absolutely love this place in fact I’ve been coming here for 15 years. I’m getting married in three weeks and I left my dress til the last minute. I just knew and trusted Anna and Stephen and knew with their knowledge and beautiful fabrics it would all be fine. And yes it’s just perfect, got the most gorgeous fabric and also a dressmaker. Nothing is too much trouble. My 88 year old Mum has been coming here for the same length of time and she is always delighted with her special occasion dresses. Can’t wait for you to see the photos. I had the most wonderful experience buying my wedding dress material here. Louise and Anna are knowledgeable, helpful, honest, fun, and so welcoming! My mum and I were looked after from the moment we walked in, and both left feeling so happy about our fabric choices. I am a return customer to Selective Fine Fabrics and went in looking for ideas for a Mother of the Bride dress. Anne was wonderful with the advice she gave, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience amidst much laughter and jokes. The range of fabrics she has is superb, and cannot be found elsewhere. Her personal advice to me was exactly what I needed, and I left her shop with a huge smile on my face, and stunning fabric that I can't wait to have made into a dream outfit.I'm still smiling as I write this review, as Anne is the kind of person I always hope to meet in stores, but almost never do. She is incredibly experienced, and treated me as an individual instead of the stock standard sizes that clothing stores generally mark everyone with. If you are looking for material to make a fabulous outfit from, I cannot recommend Anne and her wonderful store enough.

It was with some trepidation that I walked into Selective Fine Fabrics with my mum’s 40 year old wedding dress that I was hoping to wear, but it needed a new skirt. With no skill in dressmaking myself, I was hoping to get some expert advice so that I could get what I needed to take back to my dressmaker.Louise greeted me immediately. She was helpful, knowledgeable and extremely pleasant to deal with. She guided me through all my options and I walked out with everything – and it cost less than expected! My experience in this shop was second to none and I would highly recommend it.Sarah
