The Squid Shack
Best fish and chips ever. Batter was so thin and crunchy. Fish was so fresh. Just had lunch there. Will be back for tea tonight.

We drove from Albany town to The Squid Shack at Emu Point for fish and chips lunch. Beautiful foreshore and beach scenery with perfect weather. Ordered fish & chips and salt & pepper squid with chips. Due to a shortage of chips, it has been changed to salad and small amount of chips. The butter was a bit oily compared to other competitors in town. Overall, it is still a good experience.

Crispy golden flaky batter coated on succulent pieces of shark and groper. We also tried panko crumbed squid rings. Crunchy chips smothered in chicken salt by the seaside. Dog friendly place, outside benches. Lucky to be an Aussie #fishnchips

Brought tea last night. Partner brought a spring roll which was seriously overcooked. Rest of us brought fish which looked like crab sticks and the chips were extremely dry plus after eating it my mother and partner was extremely sick after eating from here. Definitely NOT going back

We ordered a fisherman and a fish cake for two people, the size is really enough. The fish and prawns are nicely crispy but too oily. The squid didn't peel the skin, so it affect texture. I don't really like the fish cake, It's a bit tacky.

Sorry, but for a squid/fish shop next to the water, the feed wasn't great. Obviously, they need to change their cooking oil a bit more often. Service was good.

Fish is fresh, well cooked and chips are good too. This is one of the best fish and chips store in area.Customer have a choice of and door and outdoor dining area. Food came out reasonable fast. Pricing is good for what you get maybe more chips could be a bonus.

Finally, we managed to eat here on boxing Day. Shark was awesome as reviewed and wife liked the blue grouper. Location is fantastic, right in front of Emu Point. Service is efficient. Fish was fried to perfection, crispy batter outside and fresh tender fish inside. Not a single morsel was left.

I voted this one as the best Fish and Chips in WA. The crispness and level of freshness is absolute perfect. My sons both agreed that this is the best yet fish and chips that they have tasted. We eat twice just to check if they are consistent with the taste. Serving was fast. We ordered catch of the day and the fishersman basket.

The food was nice but very few chips were provided. They blamed the eastern states' potato shortages. However, no other food venues I have recently been to in Albany have reduced their quantities. Was disappointing. Won't be returning until after regular quantities are reinstated.An optional gluten free batter would be awesome.
