I spent 2 months in this hostel, during the apple picking season. Very nice place, good facilities, clean and quiet environment. The staff is friendly and helps you looking for a farm job if you need. Cheap prices, definitely recommended for any backpackers!

I spent 3 months in this hostel, I really enjoyed my stay, especially for an European person. You will meet a lot of Asian people and share something different. The room was really good and it's a quite place if you want to rest after work. Definitely recommend it ;)

Too expensive and dirty hostel. Used dishes are not washed and the sink is clogged and water does not flow, shared kitchen is always dirty. There are always young people in the shared space. The water in the toilet does not flow, and the shower room is dirty. I strongly recommend that you look for another inn.

Run away. This is a worker Hostel. They make you pay for 2wks+1wk guarantee =$600. They promise work but if you're lucky you'll have a few days and nothing more, then you're stuck here cause you already paid. Rooms are so basics and cleaning is not done everywhere. Had to ask to get a bin for the toilets, they don't have bins in the rooms neither. If you're Japanese and your goal is to learn English, don't Come here. Owners are just dishonest people.

An old hospital that has been converted into a backpackers hostel. For the price it's awesome.! There is a large communal lounge area with television and lot's of chairs. Kitchen facilities clean and well equipped. Rooms clean with comfy bed even an electric blanket. Small fridge in room. Showers/toilets clean. Front desk staff helpful and friendly.

I am a mature aged, Australian, female who relocated to Tasmania and has required temporary accommodation whilst looking for work and accommodation. It has been such a wonderful place to stay. Very clean, quiet, well located and staff can not do enough to make your stay easy and pleasant.

SJ Hostel . Great place to stay .Been here now for six weeks while touring Tasmania.It's clean ,nice rooms ,great atmosphere ,cosy ,close to the city and Legana shopping centre ,the bus outside the main gate .Traveled from Darwin to Tassie in my car and by far the best hostel I've stayed in.5 Stars!!

Staff very friendly, welcoming and keen to help. Whole place is kept clean and well maintained with lovely gardens. Kitchen well appointed with plenty of fridge space. Free wifi in lounge area only. Room heating is only overnight so during the day you have to make a choice between privacy in your room or warmth in the communal lounge. While quiet for a hostel (not a party place), noise does carry. If you plan on a longer stay, especially if working, I strongly recommend you try a few nights first. This place, while good overall, would not necessarily suit everyone.

I strongly recommend to stay this SJ Hostel .I have lived in there 4 month.the staff is friendly and very kind especially the guy who is working in a Reception . you should talk to him cause, he is really helpful to get a farm job and he knows all of that hostel about.nice location, very quiet, amaizing.one day, i absolutely visit to there again.this hostel which is awesome!! Thanks a lot.

We are in the caravan park next door.5.45am is not an appropriate time to be incessantly beeping the bus horn, yahooing and loud music every morning.Obnoxious and disrespectful people with no regard for others. Management clearly does nothing.
