Mount Stirling

One of those very special places to visit!A very unique Snow Gum, registered by the National Trust for significant tree in Victoria.This lone gum breaks the summit profile, bears all the harsh weather and illustrates how nature can defy itself. Estimated germination 1700 !You can reach the summit tree via a steep but beautiful hike ~12kms from TBJ. The extreme 4x4 trail is for advanced drivers only and only open for a few months in the year. Very straight forward to reach via MTB from the top of Stonefly, but you’ll need some serious fitness. The descent is hazardous.Very popular winter hikes come past here in the snow.There are no facilities or water. The mountain streams are delicious but don’t bank on walking past one.

Amazing place. Awesome 4WD tracks around the place. A must see if your around the area in summer.
