My partner and I have been working with Steve from Design Residents on the renovation and extension of my 1970s home.Coming into the process I thought we just needed some ideas, someone to draw up the plans and a builder. I am a town planner by trade and thought I had a good idea of the development process but reflecting on it now I don’t want to imagine the mess we might have got ourselves into if we hadn’t worked with Steve.He turned our concept design into a detailed 3D model so we could visualise exactly how our house would look, including realistic rendering of the materials and finishes. I loved how we could 'walk through' the design which also helped us to understand how it related to our neighbours' properties.Steve has excellent attention to detail in terms of design, planning and preparation of plans and documentation, which has meant that we haven't had any surprises along the way. Plus he took care of the engagement of consultants and engineers, which has meant less stress for us.We were blown away when our development application was approved in 28 days! As a result we are in now a position to start the build within a year of engaging Design Residents and could not recommend Steve more highly.

Design Residents (DR) are by far the best firm we have worked with for residential home designs. Beats any architect firm we have used before on client services and end product design. Steve works through a thorough client consultation brief, his accuracy in drawing details is second to none and his interpretation of local DCPs to achieve compliant designs is invaluable. DR are solution oriented and we look forward to a continued engagement and collaboration on more projects to come.To date we have working on two projects together being, Pagewood and Zetland Terrance.
