Kermandie

Beautiful location, plenty of parking. Choose a self contained unit if you can. Rooms are more modern and better fitted out. Nice hot shower and heater. Nice restaurant for dinner and good service on a busy night. Will definitely be back if we can. Idyllic.

Lovely clean motel unit next door to the older hotel for our 4 night holiday stay. Little wrens hopping around outside.Enjoyable bar meals & at the Esperence Restaurant onsite. Good base for exploring with a hire car.Second time we have stayed here. Last time we were in an older room in the hotel. Preferred the motel room this time around with its ensuite bathroom. No cooking facilities. Only toaster,kettle & bar fridge. Would stay here again. Lovely friendly,helpful staff.

Overall this place was pretty nice for a spur of the moment pub-style meal.The cheesey garlic bread was good! Homemade bread. Could afford to cook it a bit more though, get that crisp.Had the yellow curry for main, and I deeply regret this. The overall flavour of it was incredibly bland. And the only thing you could definitively say about it is, there was no lack of chilli. It was there, and ready to make your tongue numb.There was at least a good variety of options to choose from

More like a Bed and Breakfast than a Hotel.They asked guests to wash up dishes used which I was happy to do but I don't like the idea of relying on the previous guests to have cleaned the dishes properly and they didn't provide a tea towel.Severely understaffed but the staff were absolutely lovely and helpful.Food was a bit tastless but cocktails were amazing.Would have been a good experience if the above was what I was expecting and it was advertised a bit more appropriately.

Came for lunch with my family that are from down Port Huon, usually have an amazing meal and service but this time we waited very long to be served and there was hardly anyone in restaurant. When we ordered they missed half our food and the chips came out cold and worse when we asked for better. The customer service was shocking and the food displayed on our plates looked terrible. Wasn’t happy with this visit as I know how good they usually can be.

I stayed at the Kermandie for a week of a writing retreat. Not only were the staff absolutely professional and helpful - I was very unwell for the first few days from the flu and then flying meant that my ears didn't pop (I'd been unwell for over a week already) and they did everything they possibly could to help me out. Michelle, Kurt, Deb and the team were friendly and really made this a fantastic stay. We'll be coming back for sure and bringing the rest of the family!!The food was also marvellous and they did amazing work to accommodate not just my dietary requirements, but those of everyone else on the retreat. We had people on the retreat with terrible gluten allergies and the Kermandie did everything they could to create a safe space free from airborne contaminates. Sitting there in the restaurant having a lazy breakfast (potato crumpets are new to the menu and were amazing!) and just looking out at that view is something I could do every day of my life! I loved everything that came out of the kitchen and wish I had met the chef!! I never heard a complaint from anyone about their evening meal and I admit that I had the sticky date pudding several times!The view from my unit was also fantastic, and just watching the birds kept me amused. There were king parrots (I think!) and willy-wagtails galore and bumblebees! Lots of people saw the platypus in the creek as well.

Food came out cold. Absolutely appalling staff. One staff member didn’t come up to us to take our orders (which we were fine with) but went up to another table and took their orders. Family and I kept saying “thank you” when an employee put our plates down got absolutely nothing back not even a smile. Saw us come in with kids and wasn’t given a kids menu. Not coming here again, staff were horrible never again. Very poor service (they weren’t busy at all either)

I had a great lunch here and it was outstanding. There were great vegan options plus other tucker plus they had options of zero alcohol beers. The service was also perfect.

Always a great place to stay at The Kermandie Hotel, staff are friendly and always a great meal to be had whether it's in the bar or the beautiful restaurant.... we have stayed here many times over the past years and there is always a room available at short notice! The views are amazing overlooking the marina with all the local vessels tied up in their moorings. The food and beverages are awesome!... so next time your on your way down south, make sure you put it on to your ...must pop on in next time" list of places to see in the Huon Valley!"

Went to the bar area for a meal and wow what a disappointment. Usually meals are great but not so this time, chips looked so pale like they had just come out of packet frozen and microwaved. Everything was cold and horrible. Sadly will not be returning. Don’t know who is cooking there but saw him crossing the road to go to work and his uniform was filthy, so makes you wonder what the kitchen looks like. Shame on you Kermandie you had a great business but your new restaurant has obviously taken over and the standards in your bar have slipped. But who wants to pay $45 for a steak
