Merimbula Lakeview Hotel

Open and comfortable atmosphere with fairly standard prices. Very attentive and friendly staff who provide quality service, food and drinks.The bar does not serve cocktails but they can make simple mixers upon request. The food and drinks were high quality, my only comment is that larger sauce portions for certain menu items such as the salmon and chicken schnitzel would be great.

Great view, nice atmosphere, great food, service slight issues but would recommend it to everyone. Oysters to die for.

Our visit to Merimbula was awesome. A wonderful spot for families offering fishing, beaches, a sandy river outlet to the sea with safe sandy sloping shallows for kids. Marine drive afforded a back entrance to the beach and pathways to the river side.

A downright horrible experience. We will never come back. My partner and I arrived at 6:20pm and asked if they had a table for two. We didn’t have a booking which is our mistake, but the server was incredibly rude. He laughed and said there were no tables. At first we thought he was joking but he wasn’t. I asked if we could come back soon when a table freed up which he made out to seem nearly impossible. He told us to come back at 7:30. We were more than happy to do that as it was only a hour wait so decided to go downstairs to the bar and have a drink while we wait. He told us we couldn’t eat down there and we said that it’s fine we are happy to enjoy a drink while we wait. During our drink downstairs a group of 6 people came in proceeded to walk upstairs and came down to eat in the area we were told we couldn’t. Apparently it’s different rules for different customers.Finally, the food was honestly disappointing and not enjoyable. I had the curry was barely Luke warm and tasted like water. I am guessing it was reheated leftovers. My partners schnitzel was “edible”. No one asked us how our food was when our table was cleared our plates were just taken. I don’t think they cared.Horrible service, less than desirable food.The one star is for the friendly bar man down stairs* two 25 YOs who only expect friendly service and decent food

Bought a rump steak which was expensive for a sinewy cut of below average rump. Did not even look like a rump. Was poorly cooked, and uneatable in the end. Complained to a female manager who advised she normally does not recommend people ordering the rump due to this yet they took our money..... no offer of a refund. Will not be back and observed another complaining also during our meal.

Beautiful view. Could do with some work on the customer service side of things. Food took an hour to be made and was very average. Med to well done steak was very well done.Would I recommend this place...mmm...just for the view.

Do yourself a favour and don’t dine here. Over cooked steaks - had to argue that medium rare is not well done. Whole dining experience after that went downhill fast.
