Plaza Fish & Chippery

long drive, no lunch arrive in Hastings at 8pm. go to this place, which does have great fish and chips, but we decided to order a Souvlaki each. I ask them if the meat was stale/old they said no as it was in a tray and not carved. They then reheated/cooked it and again I said it better not be tough. We got home and started to eat it. It was dry hard and overcooked meat, my husband gave his to the dog in disgust, I are half as I was starving and kept the rest to take back.I returned it in the morning, the person who spoke to me bordered on extremely rude, abusive and arrogant, he would only refund for one, even though he could see the meat was crisp and should not have been sold, I pointed out both were the same and I had to have something to eat, but he refused to refund the $22.We will not be going back, in refusing to refund $22 they have lost much more as we buy from there once a week.

Just bought a souvlaki had a teaspoon of meat in it. Called them they said it was 140g. It was just salad. Not good enough for 16 dollars...

I wasn't very impressed with burnt chips, this has happened the last two times i've ordered from here now. I can understand mistakes can happen but the willingness to give a customer burnt food is extremely negligent, no quality control whatsoever!Edit: I once again got burnt food from here, I won't be returning.

Extremely poor customer service in all aspects. Called multiple times and politely said we couldn't understand, only to be hanged up on over and over again. Save the trouble and the rudeness and order somewhere else as this is anything but fast food.

Thought id give this place a go, wish I didn't, very overpriced.Rubbish soggy chips.Won't be going back there.

The plaza Fish and Chippery this is the go to fish and chip shop in Hastings. Great food, always fresh and cooked the way you like it. Friendly and speedy service old school how it should be, so if your in Hastings pop in they'll be glad to see you.

I purposely came to this shop today to buy their fish and seafood scallops. I was not disappointed. All was cooked to perfection and the scallops fresh and juicy. The batter on both the fish and scallops was not too thick or greasy. Delicious.There chips and potato cakes were also delicious Prices were good and quality excellent.

Asked for plain salt was given chicken salt. Who wants their fish to taste like chicken dah.

The food was amazing! Also extremely well priced. The staff are amazing. The fish and fries are very fresh and well cooked. I will buy again!
