Rams Head North
Interesting rock formations and great views. Best accessed from Kosciuszko Lookout (less than 1km) or from Etheridge Gap via the ridge. Easy climb to the top of the rocks. Great views of Mt Kosciuszko if you walk along the ridge towards Ramshead. You can return on the other side towards the bottom of the Mt Kosciuszko or Dead Horse Gap walks. There are a lot of shrubs around Merritts Creek and Signature Hill, so it's best to avoid that area.If you visit Ramshead (2,190m), Ramshead North (2,177m) and another unnamed peak on the way (2,180m), you will have visited the 4th, 5th and 6th highest peaks in Kosciuszko National Park.Note that there are no tracks. Wear good hiking boots and only go if you are otherwise well equipped and know how to navigate with a map and compass, as there are very few people out there who can help if you get lost or need assistance.
