Hunter Water
We got a report of possible water leak on our tenanted property. Called Hunter Water and was told somebody might look into it in 10 days. There had been a lot of rain during this period so it was difficult to determine the problem for sure just by looking since the ground was wet everywhere. After several days we contacted Hunter Water yet again to insist it was important they assess it, to prevent water loss. But, once again we were told that perhaps in 10 days someone may look at it.We did get it fixed by a plumber who excavated to find a leak in a pipe supplying water to the house, but he also found that the water meter was faulty. During all this time a lot of water had leaked out and we got a huge bill from Hunter Water. Despite the fact that it was not easily evident where the leak was, and despite the fact that Hunter Water delayed the progress of the investigation, and despite the fact that it takes time to organise tradesmen during this pandemic, and despite there being an additional contributing role of the faulty/leaking meter , Hunter Water says they are not responsible for any cost of lost water because it was a leak on our property that should have been identified by us earlier.Their requirements to be eligible for any refund of water usage costs are designed to make it almost impossible to find them liable for any of it. Unfortunately when a company is a monopoly they can do whatever they want and can refuse liability for any and all problems. Hunter water gets a generous 1-star from us for their “customer service”

Having dealt with Customer Service Officer Melinda previously to rectify an issue at our business premises (with a happy ending), I now had reason to check a payment issue for our home account.I was fortunate enough to have Melinda answer my call today and once again she was very pleasant and efficient. She listens to the problem and then works out a solution.Hunter Water are very lucky to have her to solve problems for the customers. Thanks MelindaYou are a Five Star person!!

I reported a suspected mains leak at around 5:36am to a very alert CSO Sue. After she took all the particulars she thanked me for alerting them to what I saw and she would get someone on it straight away.I received a call at 7:12am from Brad the plumber to confirm he had been out to the property, identified the issue and all was now remedied from HWB perspective. As I mentioned to Brad, I did not expect a call back however the level of service provided was truly World Class.

Last bill was $89 new bill $1290 as our neighbours boyfriend ran into it and didn't tell anyone, we found out from our other neighbours he hit it. But I called up to get someone to come fix it from hunter water as soon as I realised it was leaking as he didn't call up. They denied our water rebate and now want us to pay the bill on a plan. Hunter Water are pathetic, our water meter isn't even infront of our house, it's all the way down near the curb. Maybe if they were doing their job and realised our water bill was 14.5 times our last bill something was up.

$2500 bill for one weeks occupation of a new build, the water used would have been impossible even with a major leak. Hunter water could give a toss, even our local MP was disgusted. Shame we can’t get someone in competition with them.

Don’t park outside of my house driveway for multiple hours, I was unable to get to work, get food, there was no driver in the front seat. Massive truck blocking driveway. Have photos of proof. Seriously, have half a brain cell and think about it.

Our water turned dirty, filled with sediment tonight, we called the emergency number which was quickly answered and the issue rectified within the hour. We were kept in the loop with what was happening and called when the water was back to a good quality. I’m so impressed with the service from Hunter Water tonight!

Hunter water disconnected the water of one of my Clients, without notice or warning. Neither myself, the Landlord or the Tenant received any invoice. No warnings were received. We ALWAYS pay our bills, but impossible to pay if they are not received. Hunter Water were unable to advise where the bills went to. Lately I have been finding so many mistakes and errors. They couldn't even read the meter if a small dog was there, a tiny bit of grass makes it too hard. 10-12 weeks to recognise change of owner, yet they threaten to cut off water regardless. They are unable to email bills, everything takes for ever from a mailing Centre in Melbourne.
