The strata management fault information to the owner.The strata management team managing in our building complex installed a ventilation fan in our building complex without any explanation to the owners most affected by this installation as to why it should be installed. The noise from this installation devastated the peace of our family life, and made it impossible to sleep at night.We made a complaint to strata management and received a reply by email to this effect: “Be advised that the council engaged with the committee to have these works completed.” They indicated that its installation was considered necessary to comply with a Fire Order (from Council).We asked Whelan Property Group to provide the document from the Council.They replied “Given the committee members actioned these fire order changes directly to the council, we are awaiting the documentation.“The Council contacted me and advised thatSince we spoke on the telephone on 27 March 2023, I have ascertained that Council's Fire Safety Team has not required the installation of the ventilation fan. I have also ascertained that Council approval for installation of the fan is not required.I cannot understand why Strata Management mad the decision to waste our money and apparently gave us the fault information about the necessity of having it.The reviewerHomeownerBao Murphy

The WORST strata management group you can come across. I have been requesting for repairs for our building for two years now...and they have just not bothered to listen. They don't care at all. They won't bother to pick up your call or respond to your mails and by chance you happen to get through to them, they will give false assurance and disappear again.. frustrating to the core. Absolutely callous in their behaviour. If I could, I would give them zero stars. Please do not have them as your strata managers.

I would give them negative 10 stars if I could… Whelan neglected our building until it became defective and then tried to force our building to contract into loan of $2.5 million.Whelan did not communicate to the owners or committee about putting us into a loan and made decisions without approvals from the owners.Whelan reported in our financial report that funds were quickly diminishing since they took over the building 2 years ago. However they didn’t specify that they had also not paid for several outstanding invoices for 2 years and never reporting this to the owners. We found out about the $150,000 debt after we changed strata managers.

If you are in the process of changing strata managers I would highly recommend talking to Chris Whelan. Our building was managed by a large strata management company, one with many brands, for 20 years and since Chris took it over several years ago it has improved significantly. Their experience in the tendering process and the quality of remedial repairs are notably high.Communication with the lot owners and residents has also been excellent resulting in harmony within the building.
