Blackert Gymnastics Academy

Extremely disappointing, two bad experiences left my 10 y/o daughter in tears. She was moved at one stage to kindie gym to suit their class sizes and recently told she would be relegated to level 1 for the upcoming grading. She has already completed this successfully to have moved to level 2 for the past two terms. We were advised this was because she was having difficulty with one technique but was obviously not the given the coaching necessary to achieve this. This has left her devastated as she has been learning for well over a year and loved gymnastics. She no longer wishes to attend & I do not pay to have my daughter taught to cry.

My daughter loves it but gets upset that I can’t watch. It should be noted that parents can’t watch and have to sit out in the car park in their cars- not ideal with a baby in tow. They also avoid doing the roller doors up so you can at least see from the outside.

After emailing and calling and leaving messages with no answer and also paying the GNSW membership, it was decided to show up at the class we wanted to attend as friends also attend so we knew it wasn’t booked out and had exhausted all efforts of communication. We then were turned away and spoken to extremely rudely due to something minor which could have been avoided if the staff/owners actually answered the phone or returned calls or checked their email. My 5 year old daughter was in tears from the way she was spoken to and how the situation was handled. The whole situation was handled so poorly and seeing the disappointment and hurt in my daughters eyes I felt I had to write this, I don’t usually leave reviews unless they are good ones and I don’t want others to go through the same thing.

A good gym located in Newcastle region. Communication from management needs to be improved to make it a much better business.

The only WAG club in Newy to be at if your daughter is interested in competing at the highest level. The coaches are the best in the region
