Rural Building Company

Sale and design was a pleasure. Build is a nightmare, months overdue and unable to provide a planned scheduled on the outstanding items, after numerous requests.

The design is beautiful and I love my house. But the build appears to be sub par. Customer service has been atrocious, after being fobbed off multiple times and told the wear is normal. I am now left with a house that's 15years old and not financially viable to repair. This does not seem fair/reasonable that after 15years I am needing to completely rebuild. Very disappointed.

RBC bought a block in our suburb, cleared the whole thing including a 40 year old hedge which was gorgeous and right on the front boundary (so not in the way at all), and AFTER that, applied for permission to the Shire to build a display home. Got a letter from them after all that, saying they are 'environmentally friendly' and put a lot of work into 'landscaping' the home. Well, you'd have to put a lot of work in after destroying all the other vegetation on the block and leaving a dustbowl for months (work hasn't started yet after months)! After this display of a total lack of care and communication, I would never use them.

RBC were outstanding! I have recently had my home built by RBC and cannot praise them enough. I found the process from start to finish professional, consistent, reliable and honest. There was never any confusion, disappointment or empty promises. We are living in difficult times with trade delays and material shortages, however RBC worked with integrity and dedication to promptly schedule as resources would allow, without compromising the quality of the trade or material. I never felt forgotten or that my build was not a priority. The tradesmen and workmanship was brilliant and the result is a well built home. I was listened to and respected by all involved. My team were definitely working with my interests at heart and the result was collaboration and a wonderful outcome. I highly recommend RBC for a quality build and a staff who operate with integrity.

Not happy. We built this house 13 years ago and we are still fixing things and trying to get things right from when we built as almost every thing was done wrong, the worksmanship was shoddy, the finishes were awful, even fan switches were put on the wrong way, everything’s falling apart. This was suppose to be a top of the line house in their range and took them 2.5 years to build and nothing was done right. Even the electrical’s weren’t done properly which almost caused a fire and we are still having troubles with. The lady we dealt with during building was awful, she was rude and honestly didn’t seem to care. We had asked and paid for finishes such as stainless steal stair railings which she gave us grey powder coated ones instead and outside railings that were suppose to be dark grey they got fitted in blue and when we bought the issue up she told us too bad this is what you get. The issues were never put right. We could give you many more examples of this happening and things wrong with the house but the list would be too long.When we tried to contact the company about issues they didn’t seem to care.This was suppose to be a dream house when we moved over to Australia and it has only been a nightmare.

Signed a contract in December 2020, and finally took the keys in May 2023, still with unfinished work to be completed. Everybody knows the problems with the building industry at the moment, but the total lack of accountability or ownership from RBC management was staggering. No sense of urgency, zero interest in delivering on time, and the fact we faced avoidable delays due to lack of planning and organisation meant nothing. The end product was good, but the process after contract signature is pathetic and highly unprofessional

They put the walls up on my parents house in Busselton over a year ago an haven't done and work on it since. The roof timbersthat they left on site are now weathered and worn. Never contacts back, extremely hard to work with and worse with their scheduling.

Very poor service and communication. Built a new house and one drain is blocked. They have washed hands with it. They told me it probably was one of my trades without even coming out to look. Plaster missing from walls. Had to pay a independent inspector as I didn't believe them. Lucky because they had to fix a few things that didn't meet code. They damaged my entry sign/arbour that is 4m high and 6 m wide. They told me I didn't give clear access. The whole process was a complete fight with them.Now chasing them to repair a blocked drain that is full if grout and can't get any help. They did the tiling aswell

We built our first house with them. We opted to use them as the sales rep assured us they were a small company that would be easy to interact with, understood rural issues and had an emphasis on quality.We ended up with a good quality home; however the journey was not smooth. The pre-start process was shambolic and ended in us having to make vast amounts of changes throughout the process, communication during the build was poor and some staff members were far from helpful. They claim to specialise in rural properties but their knowledge of rural issues such as BAL and Stormwater Management was non-existent, resulting in a lot of onus being placed on the customer to guide them.They offer very nice house designs, but be aware that to achieve a standard anywhere near that of their show homes would cost a lot of money and time outside of their scope. The build quality was good throughout, with small issues identified by an independent inspector.Overall, the end product was a beautiful house which was achieved by a lot of interaction between the customer and builder. The relationship was relatively poor throughout due to a lack of communication from the builder, but the end product is good.I would recommend them based on build quality and design but not based on their pre-start process, administration and communication.
