‘The Ashy’ Op Shop
I've loved visiting this op shop for over 2 decades. Unfortunately the prices have gone through the roof over the last few months. Second hand items close to retail if not more. I love supporting charity organisations, but feel the high prices may back fire for this op shop as stock turn over has slowed, as has my interest to visit.

Visited a few days ago & just wondering if it still is an op-shop ? Prices just so high, I was astounded, huge shame as once was a great op-shop. Noticed heaps of clothes & customers but most walked out buying nothing like I did !!

‘The Ashy’ Op Shop
HORRIBLE and very disappointing. The Staff there on Sunday were extremely rude, and insulting, and that's not the 1st time. The sign read No games or pictures today." We were donating shoes

Popped in around 12.30 on Saturday and viewed main shop...appealing but not affordable. Overheard sales assistants discussing how they had placed earrings so they wont be stolen. Went outside to access back area but was unsure how so went back in shop and asked. After opening the gate I was accosted by someone from sorting room who told me off-accusing me of breaking in...apparently it's closed while they eat lunch, despite opening hours stating otherwise. I mentioned having asked inside but the middle aged grumpy male refused to acknowledge it was the their communication issue. Go elsewhere...so many other lovely op shops where you will not be treated as a criminal.

Extremely low change room doors resulted in me catching a strange man looking over the door at me when I had my top off to try things on yesterday.Have alerted the manager of the incident and the issue of door height, but posting this here to implore customers not to assume it is safe enough to try clothes on unless the change room doors are made taller to prevent any other women or children from experiencing what I did yesterday.I am still extremely upset and shaken up by what has happened.

I'm not sure if there's been a change of management or what's happened but the prices are just ridiculous. Second hand goods for above retail price. Such a shame, used to be such a great op shop.

The furniture available is often quite beaten down, not exactly worth their marked prices. Interestingly they have a range of pot plants at reasonable prices. The books are on sale most of the time and you can find good books for $1. They have a moderate DVD range. The clothing here is pretty pricey for the quality and age. $7 or $10 for some clothing items is a bit much. Given you can buy brand new elsewhere. The toys are a bit battered too. Kitchenware and porcelain can be astronomically priced.

Really disappointed with this store. As i was shopping i could hear the staff gossiping and complaining about customers and saying they just wanted to go home. I bought a few things mostly for my daughter and picked a bag for myself but when the total was rung up to $32 i asked if they could do it for $30, they said no. Most often people shop at op shops because they cannot afford new retail items, i feel for the pensioners who will not even be offered a dollar discount for bulk purchases....To be honest, stores such as Valleygirl/Temt/Cotton On/Alley/Factorie/Jay Jays etc all offer brand new clothes shoes and bags often for $10 or under...begs the question why would we shop second hand for Ashey shop prices and such rude service.

A very tidy well organised op shop. But unfortunately far too expensive especially for clothes that are often thread bare or too old to be worth more than a few dollars. Jeans, blouses and skirts are all $8.00 and some are higher prices.Outside back part of shop has some furniture, odds and ends and is not well maintained, most items are dirty or weathered.Shall not be making trip here again.
