This place is ok, when we arrived we didn’t realise you had to go via the cafe for the tour and toured by ourselves. They have birds and Salmon/trout too, we didn’t see any lobsters in the ponds. The cafe was nice it has souvenirs and lovely scones. Staff are nice.

This is a not for profit organisation for the conservation of Tasmania freshwater lobsters and some birds. It’s unique and hopefully gets a bit more traction in the future.

Fantastic little cafe and lobster exhibit. Best coffee and scones with raspberry jam and cream I've had for a very long time.Totally recommend going a little way off track to visit this fantastic place.Very warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Beautiful spot for some food and to learn about the endangered lobsters! Interesting tour and it will be even better once the new aviary is finished

Well worth the drive up to get to see one of these fresh water creatures up close and personal. We had no idea how much effort goes into keeping these amazing creatures alive and the age or length they could grow to until visiting this place. I would recommend anyone who visits tassie take the time out to travel here for a once in a life time experience. Why not Tay for tea and a sandwich as well overlooking the valley it’s well worth it also.

Great place, freshwater Crayfish and now birds. Mostly volunteers that have done this to help Crayfish from being endangered. Happy to pay $10 for this beautiful place, Crayfish, birds and Trout. I enjoyed it, very informative guide.

A hidden gem run by an exceptional team. We were shown around by both Kevin & Peter who were lovely and clearly enjoyed their job and the animals they care for. The haven is picturesque and calming with great signage and educational materials. Glad we stopped by!

Lobster Ponds
Very interesting place. They are waiting on some government grants then they will be housing and breeding the endangered orange tailed black cockatoo but, even before then it is worth the drive. They have lots of other birds, fish and the cray of course to see
