Our experience with Regal was very good. We took our own floorplan and they built it on our land in Bungendore. They were well priced and transparent in their quoting - there were no hidden costs. The whole team, from sales through to the site manager and admin, were great to work with AND they finished the build 2 months ahead of time!We have lived in our home for a month now and have not found any defects. Regal are highly recommended.

We have recently completed a build with Regal Homes in a Rural location. The site presented some unique challenges and Regal Homes stepped up and completed the build on time and on budget. The design experience, the colour and inclusion selections and indeed the building process was enjoyable throughout and we cannot thanks the team enough for creating our new home.

I hardly ever write reviews especially bad ones, but I feel in this instance I must.I can’t speak of the quality of the build as we never actually ended up going ahead but the customer service was disgraceful. Our solicitor sent an extensive email asking to amend certain things in the contract and reasons as to why, following that I received an email from their sales manager with bullying context as if we had done the wrong thing. Firstly I understand some people use a standard contract whether it be a HIA or Master Builders BUT no two sales are the same and we were in every right to request these changes and if they had given a reason as to why it was unreasonable we would have been happy to negotiate. It made us feel threatened and there was no way we were proceeding after being treated like that. I even got a phone call the day after from one of the office managers apologising and saying that he was wrong to send an email like that and it was out of line.We had heard things from people we know about bad experiences before and after with the build with Regal but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. I’m so glad we never proceeded. Just because someone has over 30 years of experience does not mean they are a good builder or have a good reputation – Canberra is a very small place and word gets around. I hope no one gets treated like we did and recommend people do their research.

Bought the then Kensington home in 2006/7. Lee Stoka will recall me.Found myself having to serve as pseudo site manager/inspector during construction phase. Found much of the framework to be in need of additional shimming and re-nailing due to extensive gaps etc. Bay windows were wrongly cut and had to be replaced. Experience was not the dream we were led to believe before signing with Regal.Within 2 yrs, roof ridge-capping and flexibond was falling apart (lower tiles held in place only by mortar). Advised Regal, who sent then representative to home. He remarked the mortar and/or flexibond mix was not satisfactory. No follow up from Regal. Upon contacting them again, Regal owner (Boris) and another gentleman visited my home to reassure me things were proceeding, only to be followed up by a letter saying warranty on roof was only 2 years. No mention of door framing (see below). Moreover, I learned that the initial representative to my home was no longer with the company (some difference of opinion and falling out, perhaps because he had ethics when it comes to customer service and reported what he saw!). Have since sought legal advice suggesting irrespective of warranty, there is also an obligation to provide fit for purpose when it comes to homes etc. Exploring options now.Lucky I have retained documentary history and photographs etc. to justify claims.Garage roller doors were hung too low (large airgap at top, resulting in high wind/air-flow into garage, along with dust etc. Both roller doors had to be rehung higher. All main entrance door frame trimmings have swollen and/or rotted due to poor sealing and extensive use of craftwood/MDF (happened within first 3 years). Their response was words to the effect that they complied with then Building Code but, again, not fit for purpose. I've been in homes 20yrs old where roof ridge-capping and door frames are in better condition.First bath installed was floored with major surface defect, supposedly due to builders placing some fluid or object into the bath. Took months for Regal to replace, seemingly under duress. At one stage, we had 6 representatives (Regal and Bath supplier) in the home debating the issue.Spa bath leaked under bath within first year. Haven't used it since. Water seepage over slab penetrated adjacent bedroom inbuilt wardrobe, ruining the carpet and causing (yes, again) the MDF/craftwood framing to swell and split.Ant-trap (powder/sand) doesn't seem to be working as we regularly get ants indoors, perhaps resident in walls or lower foundational brickwork. The design of the home is good (that's why we got it) and the sales pitch was convincing too. We accommodated Regal in many ways but feel they did not live up to expectation or customer satisfaction after occupancy. Hence the 2-star rating. Would welcome Regal Homes voluntarily rectifying the roof and doorframe issues. It is so easy to make a customer happy with good faith and good will. Not so yet in this case, though would welcome them contacting me again to reconsider issues reported..

From start to finish of our recent build, Regal Homes were fantastic. Happy to answer our queries all the way through, and the final product is great. They completed our build approximately 6 weeks prior to the contract date, and did all they could to accommodate our changes as they arose. Very happy in our new home :)

We have had numerous problems with our regal home. We wanted to use our own electrician. The regal home electrician secretly cut the wires to get back at us for not using him. Bricklayers did bricklaying in the rain. Consequently, mortar is not staying in bricks. The plumber laid copper pipes on blue metal without lagging or on sand. The copper pipes consequently corroded. A new bathroom had to be constructed and all pipes had to be re connected through the roof area. There also did not appear to be proper water proofing in the shower areas.
