Sampenny Kennels & Cattery

Do not put your cat in here to stay. Our cat returned underweight and with cat flu after staying here! I have never seen our cat so unhappy or unhealthy than after his time staying at Sampenny. The towel we left with them had vomit on it for good knows how long. I don't think any attention was given to our cat's well being. He was very distressed from all the dogs barking - the dogs are very close to the cats which is intimidating for the cats. The property is ramshackled and not a pleasant place at all.

Had our two little dogs stay at Sampenny's over New Years for a week and I think they had more of a holiday than us!!The place has a nice peaceful atmosphere, I like the no frills approach to the place - 'doggy pamper packages or 'yard time'' etc may be a great (and expensive!) service most places offer but at the end of the day all I really wanted was a fun, safe and friendly environment for our two little babies. The owners did an amazing job at providing all this including time to run around, without any 'extra costs'.Id recommend this place as its affordable, close to the airport (we were able to leave our car at the kennels and they dropped us off and picked us up after our holiday, now that is service!!) and most importantly our dogs came home very happy....not a flea on them by the way ;pWill be back

Looks very basic but my dog seems to actually enjoy her time her. The owners treat her well and my dog is calm and happy when I pick her up after a holiday.

Our dog Jagga has stayed a couple of times over the holidays this time he stayed a long period of time due to move, Glenys was so helpful last minute helped us out with Jagga for 5 weeks he was well looked after.Thank you so much for looking after our boy. I recommend Sampenny great service,

This place isn't much to look at from the outside. But the owner is really kind to your dogs. You can see he is a caring soul. My dog didn't actually care that I came to come pick him up. He jumped out of the car again! I'd choose piece of mind over artistic photos of dogs catching balls in a high density prison camp for dogs any day.

I picked my Lab Bailey up last night after his first stay (two weeks) at Sampenny. He was happy and bouncy and his coat was lovely and soft. Bob told me how he had been playing with his own Lab and my parents' Brittany Henry, whose stay there overlapped for a few days. It's clear the dogs get lots of outdoor socialisation time and are looked after by dog loving staff. I had chosen Sampenny on Mum and Dad's recommendation, because Henry has been there several times and they were happy. Sampenny is miles from anywhere and doesn't look like the fancy big city pet hotels" but two very spoilt dogs cope there just fine. We use the valet pickup service: a great bonus and especially nice having your dog straight away."

We had our two cats stay here over Easter.Establishment is old and desperately needs some upgrade, the kennels had so many dogs the cats were spooked at arrival. The barking was overwhelming.Cattery house cats with an interior and exterior zone but flooring was brick and overall the cats appeared when collected very unhappy.When we picked up the cats they have returned home much much lower weight than when we dropped them off and have come home with fleas.Possibly not the best of experiences and we will be seeking alternates for future needs

Took great care of our big dog. Due to illness we cut our holiday short, sampenny were very accomadating in us picking him up earlier than expected.Thank you

Our dogs have stayed here several times and we leave them with complete confidence in Bob and Glenys care. The communication from the owners is always great and i know Tika and Axel have had alot of fun as they are absolutley worn out after a stay at Sampenny. Very affordable and great location.

Great kennel for our dog, she loves it there and the staff are great with the dogs
