We were on a date night, my phone on silent in my bag as per theatre policies. My son ended up in the hospital due to an emergency and my family member who was watching him called my phone while in the ambulance and when he was unable to reach me he called the cinema and gave them our names and told them what movie we were watching. There was no attempt at all to let us know our kid was in hospital. It was over an hour until we found out he was in hospital. I am livid. Its absolutely disgusting it was a medical emergency and they could care less. 5 seconds of a movie being interrupted so we could get to our 2 year old.

Watched many films here. Photos in this review are of the gold class experience. Staff are super friendly. Yummy cocktails. Expectantly overpriced small servings of food. I come here for the gold class reclining lounges, so roomy and so recliney.

Just saw Top Gun in Cinema 3 on the Premium tickets. Excellent value tickets. Recliner seats were spacious and comfy, especially with the movie going over 2 hours. Cinema was clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Being able to prebook seats is such a bonus too.

Customer service was great . Although my son who is deaf always gets the closed captioning device when watching a movie and they supplied us 2 that didn’t work, so he had to sit there and watch a movie without understanding it . Which is ridiculous!!!The girl who helped us Apologised and was really lovely .You need to update your ccad devices .

Beautiful cinema, cheap on prices, combo prices are cheap too. The only bad thing was the male toilet, dirty and smell urine too strong, eventhough it was quiet. The female toilet was lot of toilet papers on the floor and some of them are empty (no toilet paper left).Anyways, a good cinema overall

Gold Class: 5 star comfort . 1 star food. There is no doubt that Reading Cinemas at Charlestown, NSW offers superb comfort in their luxury armchair seating which has both reclining & electronic footrest capabilities. The seat configurations are perfect for couples, and there’s also a built in small table to put refreshments on.The Gold Lounge is also is a great place to start off the experience whilst enjoying a wine or a snack before the experience. Customer service is also very good.Sounds great… right ??? Now for the negative, which I can sum up in one word. PRICE, especially the price of food which is outrageously expensive for what you get. Tickets for the gold class experience are $30, plus an extra $2 if booked online, which many do. Not cheap by any means but on the other hand, you’re getting a pretty special cinema experience. My personal primary gripe, which is mentioned in other reviews is the food price. I ordered Salt and Pepper Squid which at $18.50, I expected something that reflected a quality snack that was of a fair & reasonable portion size. What arrived was a tiny portion of 6 very small bite size crumbed pieces of “processed” squid & a tiny wire basket of french fries. The snack also comes with your choice of dipping sauce which was also tiny. So let’s get “real” here. The squid was exactly the same as what you’d find in your supermarket freezer, and I’m talking “exactly”. You can get it from Aldi for $4.50 a box which contains about a dozen crumbed pieces. The chips are virtually the same as small maccas french fries & of similar portion size. Shoot me now, but there’s no way that’s worth $18.50. That’s simply a rip off. Can’t describe it any other way.So my recommendation, very good comfort in terms of seating even though it comes at a hefty price, but the food… give it a big miss folks & only then will they hopefully realise its massively overpriced and do something about it.

Gold class is always a treat for good movies. Expect to pay $30/ticket and up to $100 for food and drink. But very worth it.

Rude so rude male staff member. Went to see Black Demon and it had substantial Spanish spoken. But NO SUBTITLES. Walked out after 20 minutes of not understanding what was being said. Went to staff member and he said that's how movie was sent to them and there was nothing he could do. Hoyts would have instantly refunded . Will never go to this cinema again , especially since such a long walk to theatre AND the seats were hard and small and not reclining. So uncomfortable compared to Hoyt large comfortable recliners
